Bush: "Sometimes in life you get dealt a hand that you didn't expect to play"

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/07/bush-jogs-with-.html

ABC News' Jennifer Duck reports: President Bush jogged with two injured veterans that he met visiting Walter Reed last year on a track at the south lawn of the White House.

...

Bush ran with Specialist Max Ramsey, who lost his left leg last year while serving in Iraq, and Sgt Neil Duncan, a double-amputee, who was injured in Afghanistan in 2005.

As the three men jogged up to waiting TV news cameras, President Bush accidentally forgot one of the men's name, saying, "I've been running with Max and Allen."

Neil quickly reminded the President of his name. "I mean Neil," said Bush.

...

"Running with these two men is incredibly inspirational for me. And it should be inspirational to anybody who has been dealt a tough hand. Sometimes in life you get dealt a hand that you didn't expect to play, and they got dealt a tough hand, and they're playing it with all their soul," he said.

3. That man has no shame...
The second pic is truly revealing...

I do not understand how for the life of me, those guys would allow themselves to be used in such a photo-op...

18. Sad as it may seem...
...some people consign the sad state of affairs solely to the viscissitudes of fate, and don't think that bad policy put them in a bad place. Check your approval polls.

6. well, this photo-op
was clearly cooked up in a hurry after his tasteless patronizing remarks the other day in Tennessee saying "we will give him a new pair of legs"

It is absolutely fabulous that technology can do what it does for these amputees.

It is beyond despicable for this lowlife to get a photo-op with a couple of them while fighting tooth and nail to avoid treating PTSD and traumatic brain injury, continuing to send more to the same pointless fate

That they have the prostheses and can actually get around is wonderful
That they need them is horrific
That is is using them as propaganda is even more horrific

8. * doesn't do anything,
unless he can get a good photo op out of it. These two brave men are just being used, because * could care less what he has done to them. I feel very sorry for them.

12. That is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen...
That piece of offal standing there with both his legs intact, while he continues to "decide" every day, that young men and women continue to be maimed for HIS LIES!!!

And why does he have his hand on his chest as if to say, "Me me me?" :puke:

I think the idea of a literal Hell is a primitive concept, but just this once I'd make allowances...

15. But it doesn't matter if it's a rigged game.
There was no element of chance, here.

Shrub KNEW there would consequences like this and that OTHER PEOPLE would be the losers.

What a bastard. Look at him, with his arms around the vets. How touching.

Then when he gets back into his office after the photo op, he'll fight against VA benefits, troop's pay, troop rotation and basic equipment.

He's even more disgusting after having said that while hanging around those guys. Easy to say when you live in the White House and have no idea what a hard life is like. What a fucking shithead.
