Spector Has Second Thoughts on Justices
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0707/5099.html

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) plans to review the Senate testimony of U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel A. Alito to determine if their reversal of several long-standing opinions conflicts with promises they made to senators to win confirmation.

Specter, who championed their confirmation, said Tuesday he will personally re-examine the testimony to see if their actions in court match what they told the Senate.

"There are things he has said, and I want to see how well he has complied with it," Specter said, singling out Roberts.

The Specter inquiry poses a potential political problem for the GOP and future nominees because Democrats are increasingly complaining that the Supreme Court moved quicker and more dramatically than advertised to overturn or chip away at prior decisions.

Can they be removed from the Court by impeachment?

3. Fed. judges can be impeached, even SC judges. But...
The Constitution states that judges hold their positions "for good behavior." Arguably, the Constitution allows judges to be removed only if they have commited malfeasance while holding their judgeship, so having committed perjury before becoming judges might not count.

Another problem is that, to prove perjury, Specter would have to prove that Roberts and Alito actively lied. That is very different from saying -- and honestly meaning -- one thing today with regards to future intent, then having a change of position months latter.

4. Here's hoping Arlen has had an
epiphany concerning the crime family occupying our White House. Hopefully he has seen enough and what he has seen doesn't look like America to him anymore. I hope.

5. I can't remember when this has happened before
I don't trust Spector at all. But my first thought was that I can't recall when any Senator brought up such an issue.
