August Recess is going to be tough on Repubs going back to their home districts...
Dems have made the big splash -- Gonzo committed perjury, and calls for a special counsel to investigate him for perjury/obstruction.

Report to the full House on contempt by this ADministration in failing to send Miers for testimony and Bolton to provide documents under subpoena.

And not a word from Repubs on the Hill....

1. Can the Dems call them back into session early?
There's too much that can happen during a recess--like Bush taking on more power. If he does that, can Pelosi call Congress back into session?

3. Yup! And it's time to bird dog them! Find out where they will be speaking,
what town days and county fairs they will be attending. Bring your signs and voices and let them know how you feel about them. This is one way to turn some votes.

6. You are so right! Protest where they are speaking for the local news to pick up...
I find lots of people watch the local news who never watch the national news.

They know who their representatives in D.C. are, but they just do not know what they are doing.

This has already hit the grassroots level, but these Repubs should not be allowed to retreat to their home districts preaching everything is hunky dory! They need to be confronted about their delaying and obstructionist actions, and where they stand on the war in Iraq and the corruption of this Administration.

4. Not a word
But silently they are squealing like stuck pigs.

I almost - almost - feel sorry for 'em. I do feel sorry for all the people who have been trampled by the pigs' power grabs.

5. Did you hear the Repubs on the HJC talk about opposing an 'imperial presidency' ?
They are still opposing and obstructing in every possible way, but the meme has definitely changed. They are no longer defending the WH officials as being of such character as to be above any kind of investigation. They are now choosing to focus on the principles of protecting the Congress' right to challenge the WH on executive privilege by suggesting that no action be taken.

Their silence today regarding Gonzo is deafening.
