I realize how suspicious and strange it is for luggage to be in an airport
But how are you supposed to know which pieces of luggage you see in an airport are suspicious?

1. They have stickers on them that say, "This is suspicious luggage."

16. That's why it's important to put a sticker on your luggage saying "attended"!
You don't want your luggage to be misidentified as unattended.

4. The ones that are unattended.
How often do you leave your luggage by itself while walking around the airport?

6. the ones that are particularly photogenic
and situated relative to the available "security" cameras so that the networks can carry unambiguous footage of the "suspicious terrorist luggage of doom" before the Gestapo agent blows it up.

8. I don't blame the airport security people
I blame the morons who left their bags unattended and caused this issue. This kind of thing is nothing new in Europe. People know if they leave their bag unattended it will be blown up without any fanfare or TV coverage.

11. It only happens on the day Chertoff calls a certain airport and says.
You have a suspicious package.

13. It's the piece of luggage that is trying too hard to fit in with the rest
of the luggage that you have to watch out for...

Oh sure, it looks like the other luggage but that's what it wants you to think...

Notice the middle case? Look how it's trying to get the bigger case to join it in some shared confidence..disarming the bigger case into thinking it is on its side

and then there's its accomplice - the vanity case

- note the vanity case looks stand-offish? ...it looks like it belongs but it doesn't want to get too close...wants the bigger case to feel like it can be trusted if the ingratiating middle case fails to gain the trust of the bigger case

14. Look for a sticker saying "Caution: high explosives inside!"
A loud ticking noise may also be an important clue.
