Specter is back on the bus
That didn't take long, the piece of shit gasbag known as Arlen Specter that the media likes to call "independent" because he sometimes says mean things about the other piece of shit gasbag Alberto Gonzalez is already back in line for ol shrubbie and the rest of the junta.

He's come out and said: per cnn.com
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/07/26/gonzales.testimony/index.html

Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee and a harsh Gonzales critic, said he doesn't support Schumer's request for a special prosecutor.

Specter accused the senators who signed the letter of moving too quickly on allegations that are "very, very serious," without consulting the rest of the panel. He noted that Leahy's name was missing on the letter.

"I think the fact that he has not signed it is highly significant," Specter said. "I don't think you rush off and ask for appointment of a special counsel to run that kind of an investigation."

And even more tellingly the line:

The president, he added, "feels very strongly that there's been nothing improper here."

Fuck you Specter! people are on to your game of pretending to be all tough and ready to play Mr. independent just in time to go visit Bush so he can set you straight.

We can't trust anybody with an (R) behind their name, not Specter, not Collins, Snow, Hagel or any of the other fucking pukes in the capitol. If they really meant to be independent they'd dump that dictatorial party of pricks once and for all. Collins and Snow are two Senators that I really want to see gone after 2008.

7. Sphincter is a worthless POS
He must have had a come to jesus meeting with the chimp - I saw a picture of them together in Philly yesterday. Unfortunately I don't think Leahy is a hell of a lot better. I noticed also that his name was missiing from that letter and I heard him on countdown last night offering Gonzales a chance to review his testimony. WTF is up with that? He can lie under oath and then take it back? I don't have a lot of hope that there will be any consequences for these assbites with wusses like this in charge.

He sounds good...talking the good talk for Constitution...but he REFUSES TO WALK THE WALK ..preferring instead to SOUND GOOD and Slink off when the GOING GETS TOUGH!

Typical Repug...They are Liars and Thieves and Criminals and Obfuscaters...harder to catch than a whild rabbit when you want to pin them down...or ask them to do the Correct Thing to Defend our Constitution.

Defending our Constitution for Repugs stopped with CLINTON. Since they blame every evil in the world on him...to cover their Sorry BUSH/REAGAN/NIXON ASSES OF CRIMINALITY!!!!

At least they took him up on the offer of a Special Consul...Arlen's next act, stating in open committee how he never suggested this in the first place.

No one will trust him if he objects to a prosecutor and Gonzo goes free. He'll be remembered as being as moley as Thompson was during the Nixon hearings.

Arlen was traveling with Bush today. No doubt Bush pulled out new data collected via illegal spying and threatened Arlen with it. (Those pics of him from 1979 in the black lace panties and fishnet stockings, again?*)

At any rate, this was sssooooo predictable.

The post above regarding not trusting anyone with an (R) after their name is very on target.

*Not an actual incident...or is it?

when I heard specter was with bush yesterday... big UH-OHHH went off

Specter is going backtrack .....again

spin it as a misrepresentation of his statements yesterday, suggest that he was only pointing out options, not endorsing them and feels a special prosecutor would waste taxpayer's money....have more important things to do than to waste time and money...blah...blah...and by the way did you know that al qaeda in iraq is called al qaeda in iraq because they are al qaeda...in iraq?

think I've just about covered the Squirm's statement?
