Now I am sure there is something intriguing about the New Republic's soldier-blogger, whom the conservatives first argued did not exist, and now that he has come forward and is in fact a real soldier, are now arguing that he is evil incarnate basically.
There are days for such obsessive pet projects, whatever they might be - in this case, attacking a soldier serving Iraq (no matter how wrong you think he is, he is still there, while you are busy blogging here... get it?).
But today, on a day, when it is quite literally very obvious that Alberto Gonzales lied, again, but this time he has been contradicted by his own FBI chief, one might think that someone in that small circle of friends might actually take an interest in a story that has nothing to do with Presidential candidate John Edward's hair, or perhaps just for once focus on a story that has nothing to do with kissing Joe Lieberman's ass, or frankly, just take a day to really examine the condition of our nation. Is that asking/hoping too much? No really and I mean this. At what point do we all share the same damn nightmare? We are, no matter our political views, still all going to have to live together with all of the damage this administration does to our nation and our Constitution. There is no escaping it.
Michelle Malkin is of course the worst of this whole thing, like some deranged cheerleader who can barely mouth the words so generously written out for her by her handlers, she spits and spews hoping to catch some big scandal, some big show of evil that is clearly intended against America by - you guessed it - Americans.
Now I am not going to debate this whole soldier Thomas faux-scandal. If he were indeed not a real person - as some had argued before (made up all Steve Glass like) that would be one thing. But here is a young kid serving in Iraq for god's sake... cut his some god damn slack if his interpretation of events may not meet with the expert opinions of the DOD established talking points.
