I am WAY more worried about our Constitution, long term, than I am about the Dow, long term.

I am WAY more worried about our Constitution, long term, than I am about the Dow, long term.
The Dow will **always** go up. A few bumps to be sure. Some bumps may last a year or more. But overall, it is up, up, up.

Our Constitution may already be irreparably damaged by the dictatorial power grab of our 'Unitary Executive'.

The only thing that separates us from a full out dictatorship is impeachment. All the necessary changes to the law are in place. Right in the open. In front of our faces. They fucking STOLE our government.

3. Tony Snow said the economy was growing like crazy, so there's no need to worry.
He also wouldn't accurately answer reporter's questions about the DoJ investigation.

No need to worry, Stinky. everything is as it should be. Have some Kool-Aid (it's made with AquaFina, btw)...

15. Well ..... the stock market is okay, really
We're four weeks off the all time high. The fall this week was 4%. Worse hits were in 2002 and 2003. So the current slide is hardly unprecedented.

I also think any nervousness and the any overhype we hear on teevee is in reaction to the number of points it dropped, not the percentage. When the Dow was at 1,000, a 400 point drop would, in fact, be catastrophic. A 400 point in a 15,000 market just ain't all that.

And mark my words ...... the bulls will be back next week, buying up all the litter of the downed stocks.

4. I know it sounds tinfoil, but...
I'm beginning to believe that before the next election, there will be a trumped up emergency, Bush/Cheyney will seize power and institute a Christian Democracy (theocracy). Trust me, I know how nuts that sounds, or used to sound.

6. Nothing sounds nutty anymore.
Reality is at a crazy stage now. I would have never dreamed all this.

8. I am not worried about either
Nothing that has been done can not be undone throught executive order on Day One and repealing and sunsetting laws. But we have to be diligent to make sure that happens.

11. By training I guess (history and poli sci major) I am more
circumspect and typically am looking three or four steps ahead. I don't dispute things are awful.... I am just not convinced that the damage is permanent

12. Maybe.
My degree was in Liberal Studies with concentrations in economics and government (Pol. Sci.) but I think it's all out the window at this point since things have been going along contrary to everything I was taught.

just what the politicians say or do.
