Yesterday at work I opened the newspaper to read the editorial page and found a counterpoint editorial about the movie. I read the "for" column and had to sigh. Too much in the way of dry statistics for the average reader, but okay. Way to win hearts and minds.
But the other was pretty much the typical RW hatchet job, spewing the ready-made talking points that have been thoroughly debunked by now.
You can find the original editorials at
http://www.thenewstribune.com, I'm sure.
But here's my LTTE.

I must strongly object to not only the content, but also to the general format, of the editorial comments regarding the movie "Sicko" in the July 25th edition of your paper.
It's one thing to allow opposing viewpoints as a way to seek objectivity, but it's quite another to accept bald-faced lies as valid material on the editorial page of a major newspaper. Every one of John C. Goodman's talking points about wait times and the like have been soundly debunked and it's simply disgraceful that you would allow such deliberate disinformation to be printed without explanation or rebuttal.
The vast majority of Canadians and Europeans support their healthcare systems and wouldn't replace them with ours for all the money in the world. That's the simple truth of the matter and all the obfuscation the Right can muster isn't going to change it.
