Bill was just a Gov of Arkansas--- Obama has had a couple of years in the US Senate.

So this dust up between Hill and Obama over FP experience is kind of silly.

9. No shit, that's why I'm also taking a hard look at Richardson..
he's already had dealings with most of these crazy m.f.ers. I hope at the very least he's considered for Sec of State. The only thing I know is that we can't just continue to pretend they don't exist.

22. So's Jim Webb..
but I voted for him for Senate. He was leaps and bounds better than that racist bushbot George Allen.

None of the field is 100% perfect in my view.

You just have to prioritize what is important to you and go with it. My number one criteria is, who is going to go the distance and beat whatever pathetic Repuke ends up on the ticket. I want somebody who is going to fight back hard if the fix is in this time.

25. I hear you...
it's tough. I have several big issues, but I think that getting our foreign policy back on track is definitely a vital one. I vacillate from day to day as to who will be best for us and for our country. I've said for the past two elections, this is the big one, but I really think this is the BIG BIG one. We've all got to be very smart about this, our entire future, and our children's future hinges on this.

18. You're right about Richardson.
He should definitely be Sec. Of State or the Deputy of it, or whatever that position is, if not nominated and then elected. Didn't BC himself say that Richardson was good with dealing with the bad guys? "They love him".

3. Oh give it up!
The 90's were peaceful.

If he was running now without experience, he may not have won.

17. I would argue that a lot of governors have more experience with FP than some senators.
They travel to many countries, and host many foreign leaders' representatives, if not the leader themselves, regarding issues of trade, education, tourism and things of that nature.

19. Yep.
Particularly in the area of trade. The downside to all of this is they sometimes are used to running things like a king and don't have a proper perspective concerning congress.

20. Interesting idea.
But I might disagree about Bill Clinton, but, I think the fact that Obama is a new face, might truly help our place in the world. The rest of the world will really grow tired of this mind numbing pattern: Bush,Clinton, Bush, Clinton!!!! America might sound like a broken record, to others, and frankly to me as well!
