Edwards says fence along entire southern border "crazy"

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards says building a fence all along the southern border of the U.S. is "crazy." Edwards says there are some "isolated places" where a fence might do some good.

During a campaign appearance in Atlantic, Edwards told the crowd there are other ways to attack the problem."We should be much tougher on employers who are knowingly violating the law," Edwards said, to loud applause.

1. It's nice to hear a Democrat use the word "crazy" in reference to the GOP.
They should indulge more often. The GOP gives them plenty of opportunities.

3. I agree with him
That fence is a waste of money. And we do need to crack down on employers.

7. China and England have nice old walls maybe we could do ours
in stone and have some thing to show people in 3007? There is no reason WE can not build the 'greatest' wall of all. Is there a stone building section of a nice GOP thinking corp around some place? Maybe we could get the Yes Men to look into this?

Here is what it will look like, all 1700 mile of it.

The Mexicans will come in the back door, and we will go in the front, just like now.

Edit: And still only one register open.

9. Thats the plan ...

The current plan does not provide for a continuous wall across the entire border. It likely does have more wall there then Edwards thinks is appropriate. The idea is to to funnel illegals into places where they're easier to catch and to protect property owners.

I'm very sorry that we as the United States cannot help every single human being on the face of the Earth. We have laws, we have borders and we have to enforce both of those things to keep the ship afloat. If this is seriously a civil rights issue for the entire northern half of Mexico, that is if more Mexicans want to be in the US then in Mexico, perhaps we should consider moving the US border south. Then ALL the citizens in these areas would benefit from the labor protections of US law.
