Interesting comments by Michael Ware on Blitzer's
WARE: Yeah, well, obviously I can't speak for the government in Riyadh, from here in Baghdad. What I can tell you is that the Arab world doesn't trust Prime Minister Nuri al Maliki, or this government. I mean, this is not really a government.

I mean, there's no water for people in the capital right now. Electricity, if you get it at all, is down to about an hour a day. And to fill up your car with gas, you've got to queue for anything for five to 12 hours, or even overnight. This government isn't delivering services.

This government is a loose coalition of militia, most of them backed or supported in one way or another by Iran. And we wonder why America's Arab allies are nervous at what they see as an expansion of Iranian influence? We're hearing they're allowing insurgent commanders and political leaders to gather in Jordan, in Syria, and indeed even in Saudi Arabia. Just expect this to pick up rather than deescalate, Wolf.

2. Ware's segments on Wolfie's show are always jarring.
It's like beard-boy opens a little window in the "CNN Playhouse" wall, and reality comes in. Then the window closes and what has just been said and seen is never mentioned or contextualized, or even brought to bear on any subsequent discussion.

3. "Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly." My first thought
after reading this. It seems that the US is allowing Iran to infiltrate, either that or we're vastly more incompetent than I ever imagined. Is this a way to justify a US attack on Iran?

5. I'm suprised Ware is still employed by CNN. He tells the truth (as
he sees it) about what is going on in Iraq (which is mostly bad)
and all the talking heads say is "good news".

9. I'm not so sure about Ware
After Ware's blistering spanking of McCain, Ware, imo, has changed. This was when I noticed that his reports followed the Pentagon "guilelines" ie all Shia violence is dirceted from Iran, all Sunni violence is Al Qaeda.

IIRC, not long ago (a few months) the WH/Pentagon had suggested that if Maliki didn't fall in line with them then they saw a coup in his future :winkwink:

From how I read the OP, this is just the Pentagon setting the stage for the coup to occur.

10. Ware spouts far too much propaganda for my taste.
His 'viewpoint' is spun in knots, imho.

6. No electricity because so many more businesses
I was at a conference a few weeks ago and spoke with this reserve major that was over there a little while ago. His reason that electricity is scarce is that so many businesses and people need it because of progress that they can't keep up right now, it was hussians (sp) fault. I just had to shake my head and walk away, I thought to myself "what a moran" he's really drank the koolaid.

7. Now that's just FUNNY. .
They just can't keep up with the demand, what with the booming economy and all. It's a wonder people didn't laugh out loud.
