When Does George's Month-Long August Vacation Begin? ---pix--->>>

What disaster can we expect to strike THIS time? Remember, during Katrina Bush was vacationing, eating cake and clowning around for the cameras with a guitar. Cheney was vacationing & closing on his new estate in Maryland, right near Rumsfeld's estate, "Mount Misery." Condi was shopping for $500 shoes on Fifth Avenue and attending Spamalot on Broadway. ROVE was visiting with the Freepers as the counter-protest wound down in Crawford, to thank them for their service. Gonzo does not recall what he was doing, but it did not involve rescuing the stranded American citizens in NOLA.

And of course we all know where they were during August 2001. Bush was hiding at his Crawford vacation home, Cheney was hiding in Wyoming. They'd heard the warnings and they were prepared. Prepared to hide, for as long as it took. Unfortunately the terrorists waited to hit until after Labor Day, so George was forced to fly back to the WH before the attacks to save face. But no sooner had he returned to DC than he turned around and left for Camp David for the weekend, and right after that, of course, Florida, on an urgent trip to read stories to children. (Nobody wants to be in DC when the CIA has personally warned you of imminent terrorist attacks! The prudent thing to do is to get out of harm's way! Never mind the rest of us. Like the Louisianans, we were on our own.)

Anyway, Presidentting is hard work and Lord George looks like he could use the time off. In fact they all seem a little stressed. Is a month-long vacation really enough? I think the French get five weeks.
