Who are the people who are mindlessly accusing Tillman's fellow Rangers of murdering him? |
|
Fortunately, about 90% of DUers who have commented on the Tillman-was-murdered conspiracy theories who done so with some prudence; unfortunately, there've been about 10% who've been mindlessly throwing murder accusations at specifically-named Rangers within Tillman's unit.
Clue to the accusers: By all accounts, Tillman's fellow Rangers were good friends with him. It's bad enough that they a) lost their friend; but b) have to endure it with faceless members of the public accusing them of killing their friend on purpose.
There should be a DU rule on this topic: anyone who accuses a specific Ranger of murdering Pat Tillman on these boards must also reveal his or her own real name. (Actually, DU isn't alone on this; I've seen similar accusations on this topic made in other boards, including conservative/RW boards.)
Hey, what's fair is fair, right?

It's easy to hide behind an anonymous handle and accuse people of murder. Knowing full well not ONE of these assholes accusing soldiers of murder would DARE have the courage to do so face-to-face. Since they know they would risk getting their delicate asses severely, and deservedly, beaten.

What a stupid assumption. Further more, you seem to be assuming that liberals are "delicate". Hmmmm.
In the real world--meaning any of us who are not part of the * cartel--would be charged with 1st degree murder for covering up a murder and/or impeding the investigation by destroying evidence of the crime.
May I salute you on the most horrible post that I have seen in quite a while :hurts:

30. Unlikely. Snipers make it a point to only shoot you ONCE. |
|
And I don't think any snipers are using .223 caliber weapons, as a general rule.
The coroners actually saw the body, so I'd say that their professional opinion is the one to trust most: 3 M16 rounds at less than 10 yards.

That close of range excludes friendly fire with three accurate head shots in my opinion. I hadn't read about the two snipers before today.
The story just gets curiouser and curiouser. Which begs the question, why would the white house need executive privilege? So to me this thread is mute.

20. I don't know if anyone murdered Tillman and I don't know who was in his unit |
|
But the destruction of evidence (if those stories are true about the intentional destruction of his uniform and journal) if accomplished by the same person or persons in his unit would suggest a guilty mind. It's something a prosecutor would certainly jump on and introduce into evidence at trial to show guilt in building the case. Add to that the cover-up after the fact by the military and the White House, and you've got controversy and questions about whether or not he was murdered. I agree with you about naming specific names at this point and I don't think we should be stating point blank with assuance that he was murdered but I think questioning how he died is legitimate. Hopefully, we will have a thorough investigation by the Congress but I won't hold my breath.

Somewhere there are people who know the truth. Maybe someday we'll all know -- or maybe not. I do think the cover-up points to an underlying criminal act by someone, and obstruction of justice, at the very least, obviously occurred, which seems to be this administration's modus operandi. Somebody was, and still is, attempting to benefit by keeping the truth about Pat Tillman's death a secret. We need to figure out who that is. My guess is it goes to the top.

Is that sort of thing common in friendly fire accidents? And I am not accusing anyone of killing him. I simply find the details of his death kind of suspicious, and it seems so did the Drs. who performed an autopsy.

some absolute proof for their whacked out conspiracy theories.
Granted, I'm not saying anyone believing something's awry here is whacked out, since I think something's awry as well. I'm talking about the ones that take it, run with it, sensationalize it, and act like they've got it all figured out already and make these ridiculous over the top declarations.
In this case, to actually accuse some in his unit by NAME as murdering him is a huge sign of intellectual flaw. I agree with you that whoever is doing so is doing so mindlessly. I'm always a bit disappointed when important details come out on some things and the same group of knee jerk drama queens hype it up and come to ridiculous or reckless tin foil conclusions. I mean, someone said earlier bush was gonna get a murder rap out of this. I mean seriously, c'mon now.
But I hadn't seen anybody call someone in his unit out by name as a murderer, but after further research of this thread am not surprised one bit by who had done so. I'm used to seeing illogical and over dramatized premises with no credibility from that poster. I generally tune them out completely due to that. But I agree with you that in this case those statements were over the top and wrong, and good on you for ignoring the poster's childish stupidity in this thread.
