OCTOBER 27
Massive Regional Actions
to End the War in Iraq
DON’T MEND IT -- END IT!
PEACE IS POSSIBLE!

Summer/Fall Plan of Action

UFPJ is supporting a robust campaign of grassroots activities throughout the summer and fall, culminating in an international day of action for peace on October 27, when 8 regional mass demonstrations will take place around the U.S., and more will be held around the world. Click on the links below for more information about these initiatives:

August: Local pressure on members of Congress when they are on recess in their home districts. Escalate the pressure on Congress in September, as they debate and vote on bills related to the war, including more funding.

Aug. 6-9: No Nukes, No Wars, No Profiteers -- anniversaries of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki marked by protests at corporate offices and facilities of war profiteers, and nuclear facilities around the country.

Aug. 6: Occupation Project Re-Launch -- acts of nonviolent civil disobedience and occupations of congressional offices through at least the end of September.

Sept. 14-21: Declaration of Peace -- a week of coordinated nonviolent actions.

Sept. 21, and the 3rd Friday of Every Month Thereafter: Iraq Moratorium Campaign -- an escalating, monthly series of actions demanding an end to the war.

Oct. 21-23: No War, No Warming -- local and national actions to highlight the connections between the war in Iraq and the global warming crisis.

Oct. 27: Major Regional Antiwar Mobilizations -- details will be available very soon.
