Vick co-defendant pleads guilty, will cooperate

One of the co-defendants in the Michael Vick federal dogfighting case pleaded guilty on Monday and pledged to fully cooperate with prosecutors.
Tony Taylor, 34, of Hampton, Virginia, entered the guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Richmond. He will be sentenced December 14.

Taylor, along with Vick and two other co-defendants, had pleaded not guilty Thursday before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.

In changing his plea to guilty, Taylor waived his right to appeal. He told the judge that he understands he is now a convicted felon.

It is widely believed that Taylor's plea, which had been expected, and his future cooperation could hurt Vick and help the government prove its case against the Atlanta Falcons' star quarterback.

4. A Sorrid Mess Gets Messier...

I didn't believe it until I saw it...but I fear there's a racism element that could crawl into this sorrid mess.

A Reverend was on CNN earlier saying how we shouldn't rush to judgement and that the "evidence" will vindicate Vick. Short of it creating a sceanrio where Vick was nowhere involved with dogs and this somehow got slimed on him, the damage is done...far more than Super Bowl hungry fans or others want to believe.

The thing that rubs me is that, even if Vick personally didn't do the things he's accused of, he was involved in this barbaric activity...and that his money probably went to pay for purses and other expenses. The NFL is still punting on this issue...as suspending a player who hasn't been convicted opens up a can of worms with the unions...the longer they don't step in, the more polarizing and damaging this scandal becomes.

Sheesh...there's steroids in baseball, fixed refs in the NBA and the on-going rap sheets in the NFL. Win at all costs is all that matters today.

5. Wait Till the Facts Really Come Out...

Once this trial really gets under way, and the very detailed facts come out about how the dogs were tortured to death when they lost a fight, how "bait dogs" are muzzled and then ripped apart defenseless, by the fighters for practice, all the horrific and painful, totally cold-hearted sociopathic cruelty--and all of its connections to other kinds of crimes committed concurrently on the premises during fights--then all of these stupid assholes who just knee-jerk defend these things, and attack anyone who wants it prosecuted, can come face to face with what it was they were defending. This is merciless evil.
