BOSTON (AP) - Two children were found stabbed to death in a home, and their mother was hospitalized after an apparent domestic incident, police said.

Officers entering the home Sunday night found the children, a boy and a girl, dead from stab wounds. The mother was rushed to a hospital, where her condition was not immediately known.

Officers arrived on what was described as a well-being check and entered by removing an air conditioner, said Boston Police Superintendent John Gallagher. The victims had multiple stab wounds.

"This is not a random incident. We are confident the neighborhood is still a safe neighborhood at this point," said Gallagher, adding that there were no arrests and no search for any suspects.

Police did not immediately identify the children, reported to be aged 10 and 12, nor the mother.

3. Seriously.
Do they think she did it and then tried to commit suicide? What other reason could there be for not searching for a suspect?

5. They're pretty sure the children's father or mother's boyfriend did it?
That could be another reason they're not searching for a suspect--they already have one (aside from the mother, of course).

2. Probably familial. Ex-husband or estranged husband.

6. Not quite
The operative words are in the article: "Friends and relatives said the woman had been distraught after recently losing her job at Children's Hospital.

"She was desperate," said Juan Gonzalez, a friend who came to the scene Sunday night."

I wonder how many parents out there are close to the edge because of the cruel GOP economy. I wonder how many more will fall off.

9. I wonder why she didn't get an abortion...
I wonder why she didn't give it up for adoption. I wonder if she may have been mentally ill. I wonder a lot of things about this, but in most cases, if a parent may have murdered their infant, I am usually not thinking of ways to blame the GOP for it. But that's just me.

10. I wonder why you can't send kids back where they came from
when you lose your job and have to look at them doing without food.

Thank you for your compassion.

12. I do - when the vast middle class
Or as some call us "the invisible class" begin to tank because of economic conditions, the crime rate in all areas skyrockets.

13. You don't read the articles, either
These kids were 10 and 12.

She was desperate. She fell through the cracks, fell off the edge, wanted them all out of this rotten world.

The suicide just didn't work as well as the murders did.

14. This is MA
She would have had food stamps and free medical for the kids. Housing would be a bit of a bitch, but no sane woman kills her children. This is obviously a sick woman. My gripe would be with a horrid mental health system.
