Paris Hilton's Grandfather cuts inheritance to family, fortune goes to charity:
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 12:15 PM by JacquesMolay
Sorry if this seem trashy, but I find it hilarious - at least they won't have to pay that dreadfully plebeian estate tax! Of course, she's probably got her own money, but her siblings and cousins are now going to have to go out and get jobs like the rest of us.

And here:

http://www.idontlikeyouinthatway.com/2007/07/paris-hilton-is-broke.html

snip: "In what may be the greatest news of all time, Conrad ‘Barron’ Hilton, 79, Paris Hilton's billionaire grandfather, has cut off his entire family from their inheritance in order to donate his fortune to charitable foundations because of Paris' behavior. Paris, who was set to receive $59 million, will now receive nothing:

He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris," says Jerry Oppenheimer, author of House Of Hilton. "He doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family." Hilton senior recently acquired a hefty $2.4 billion after selling off a massive chunk of his hotel chain to private equity firm Blackstone. Given her grandfathers disapproval, Miss Hilton is now working hard to cash in on her fame while she can."

1. Next on the celebrity roundup Hilton sells out to Westin...
"Today, in a shocking turn-about, Paris Hilton announced that
she's changing her last name from Hilton to Westin, and she
will now only get falling down drunk and vomit off the
balcony of various Starwood hotel properties.

Her agent described Hilton Westin as 'especially
anxious to try her luck off the sky balconies of the Westin
Bonaventure in Los Angeles'. It's such a long shot from the
top down to the lobby level, it ought to make one hell of a
splatter! Plus those glass elevators give such great oppor-
tunities for ''exposure'', if you know what I mean..."

The lobby just prior to Westin's arrival as a guest:

3. tee hee!
But she'll never be "poor". She actually has made a good chunk o' cash for herself. Plus she selling her house in the Hollywood Hill for $4.5 million. She paid just a bit over $1 million for it.

But I think it's a scream that grandpappy Hilton isn't going to give any of his grandbrats a dime.

4. why am I smiling? Is that bad of me?
after all, she was a shallow, spoiled little brat with a huge sense of entitlement, and her parents did all they could to ruin her. To that extent, it was not her fault. BUT she is an adult, and should face up to the real whirled.

5. I hope realizes the far reaching impacts of that decision:
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 12:23 PM by Buzz Clik
  1. The broacast media will lose a fortune. With the Hilton family being forced to work for a living, a constant source of pointless journalism will be lost.
  2. There will be fewer alternative conversations in the GD forum here at DU.
  3. Google searches for "shaved bush" will start popping up pictures of the freshly scraped face of the POTUS.

I'm not sure the old man has any idea what he has done.

22. No Problem There!
The news media has an unending supply of idiots to choose from.

The Hilton clan and their star child, Paris, will become yesterdays news so quickly, people won't even notice they are gone.

7. I thought this was gonna be an Onion thing. But it's true???
May I say that this is typical Hilton overkill. In his own way, he's behaving just like she is. Without thought or consideration for others. Petulant asshole. He allowed these people to be raised with the expectation of wealth and now they get NOTHING? Not even basic maintenance money? Hilton's been making money hand over fist, but these unknowns?

Serves him right if they drag him into court to be declared incompetent.

Because it's just pathetic and embarrassing for our country.

Paris, I hope your partying was worth $59 million because that's the price you paid for your faux fame.

20. Irony. Conrad Hilton died leaving most of his estate to charity and Barron contested it in court ..
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 01:04 PM by TahitiNut
... and gained a favorable ruling.
When Barron's father died in 1979, he left the bulk of his estate to the Roman Catholic Church and other charities, and almost nothing to his children. Barron contested the will because of his lifelong career of working to build the hotel company and won his lawsuit in 1988. His half-sister, Francesca, lost her case and received nothing.

Conrad Hilton died on January 3, 1979, in Santa Monica, California, at age 91 from natural causes. He is interred at Calvary Hill Cemetery, in Dallas, Texas.

His estate founded the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize. He left US$250,000 to each of his surviving siblings and US$10,000 to each of his nieces and nephews. Most of his assets were willed to the Roman Catholic Church and charities. However, Conrad's son, Barron, contested the will and won in 1988. The net worth of Barron and his descendants then jumped to over US$335 million.

She's currently sueing Zsa Zsa's whacked out husband. My cousin used to hang out with Francesca in the early 1980's. He said she used to hang out in the all the punk and gay clubs back them and do a lot of drugs.

Thank you, and excuse my for a second while I hahahahahahahahahahah hahahahahah,.....hahahahahahah. Good for him, maybe some other billionaires will think of this before they die. Ive always heard Bill Gates is only giving his kids like 10 Million each and the rest goes to charity. I know 10 Million is a shit load but considering he is the richest man in the world 10 Million is pocket change.

25. They're going to have to earn it now ....
... the irony is that she has been branding herself, and making money from the ridiculous stuff she does. Her cousins and sister are SOL. They're going to have to work now. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them wanted to kill her.

Out of all those trusts and stock accounts. That I really find interesting.
