"OCTOBUSH" fittingly made of sand
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 02:03 PM by underpants

The big sculpture 'Octobush' made of sand is pictured at the Sandfestival Ruhr at the Kemnade lake in Bochum, Germany, Monday, July 30, 2007. German artist Urlich Baentsch shows US President George W. Bush as an octopus who holds corn, oil, a cross, the World Trade Center, and a gun in his tentacles. Eleven different giant sand sculptures made by sand artists are shown until September 9, 2007 in the heart of the Ruhrarea in western Germany. (AP Photo/Martin Meissner)

5. And the right tentacle doesn't know what the left tentacle is doing
It's fascinating to see how many Europeans firmly believe that the Bush administration had a hand in the events of 9/11 (hence the curled left tentacle encircling the WTC).

6. Too bad he didn't sculpt the sand supporting the octobush
into a big steaming pile of BS. That would have completed the picture.

8. It's remarkable that a German sculptor understands * better than 30% of Americans.
It's another sign of how clueless too many of our populace remain, fed on talk radio, monster burgers, and whatever's on sale at Wal-Mart.

Kudos to the artist, for capturing that "sneer of cold command" so well.
