I heard on CNN that Hillary used to be a Republican
...and I thought to myself, "Used to be? When did she ever become a Democrat?"

2. HRC does not act like a Republican
Some of her stances are centrist, some are progressive.

3. Yeppers - she was a Goldwater Republican
I used to be a Republican, a long time ago. Abe Lincoln is still one of my favorite Presidents. But the Republican Party has been corrupted from within by neo-fascism, and the rank and file of the Democratic Party, though disorganized at times, always tried to do the right thing. So here I am.

The Republican Party of the early 60s is very little like today's Republican Party.

11. a tad harsh
she's got some definite corporate and status quo type positions, but that doesn't make her a Republican. As frustrating as Hillary can be, life with her as president is a lot better than life with any of the GOP candidates at the helm.

12. Back then
you had to be 21 to vote. She may have been a Goldwater Girl but I wonder if she was even old enough to vote back then. She's not much older than me and I was 15 when Goldwater ran.

Kind of silly to bring up something that old.

And for what it's worth, our dear friend and Bush critic, John Dean, has described himself as a Goldwater Republican, though he is an Independent now.
