3. Does Roberts have epilepsy?
Not that that should have any bearing on his job. He doesn't have to operate heavy machinery afterall, but if he does, it's a wonder it was kept out of the hearings.

Ugh. Then again, I'm not surprised. :eyes:

14. perhaps he was stressed due to the thought of having to back up his buddies
in the WH when Congress starts really shaking shit up against the NeoCons.

Hey, he signed on thinking he was getting a cakewalk, not a shitstorm. :shrug:

12. Previous seizures
I read one report that said he had seizures before, just as being confirmed for the district court and that they were brought on by the stress of the confirmation process. Wouldn't the stress of being Chief Justice then be something to worry about?

He's not an idiot - I doubt he wants to have seizures after every term ends. If he resigns, who's the replacement? I hear Harriet needs a job.

46. Stress alone doesn't cause seizures
Any condition that results in abnormal electrical excitation of the brain may result in a seizure, including:

* Epilepsy
* Injury or trauma to the head
* Infection (brain abscess, meningitis)
* Brain tumor
* Stroke

Also, any medical condition that irritates brain cells may result in a seizure. Common medical conditions that commonly cause seizures include:

* Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
* Drug use (especially cocaine or stimulants)
* Alcohol withdrawal
* Very high fever (fever convulsions in children)

21. I don't want him to die, just to step down. He has been a disaster.
I never held out hope for Alito, the scumbag, but Roberts looked like the best we could hope for - bright and maybe, just maybe, thoughtful. Wrong. Should have known better about ANY Bush appointment.

May he get well, live a long time and spend all of it on an island off Maine, and off the Supreme Court. At this point, no more Bush nominees to the Court. Period. Would prefer an unfrozen cave man lawyer to anybody Bush would put forth.

this short amount of time and idiopathic only means they don't yet know what caused it.

29. I'n not wishing ill health on the CJ
but two people had siezures on my job and were fired immediately (after they were taken to the emergency room). It takes sometimes months to find a med that works on siezures. He should have disclosed this and he should step down. If he thinks he is under stress now, virtually getting whatever he wants, how will he be when things get really ugly?

39. They were lab assistants and did
phlebotomy in the hospital. Also Radiology techs can't work if they have siezures. I'm not sure about nurses, they are unionized. They were able to get disability while going through a series of trying out different medications. One found a med to stop the siezures but is banned from working at the hospital permanently.

Look at the furor over impeachment. Just WHAT employee in the Land Of Oz would get away with the kind of gross incompetence these bastards have shown without being fired?

41. I think a case can be made that if a judge has a siezure
in the middle of a trial it can effect the outcome of the case. Especially if it is known beforehand that he is subject to having siezures. But I'm not a lawyer.

48. From Raw Story:
St. George Ambulance responded to a call at about 2 p.m. Monday of a man who had fallen 5 to 10 feet and landed on a dock, hitting the back of his head. The patient was ashen and was foaming at the mouth.

Shit...that does NOT sound good....but it does sound consistent with the way he writes his opinions.
