Didn't specter announce a couple of days ago that he was going
to review testimony by roberts in his confirmation hearing?

Then, today, roberts has a seizure which MAY be stress induced?

Do I remember these things correctly?

1. Specter is a two-faced con man who has no intention of doing so
So it's probably just coincidence

3. Damn, yes he did!
He said he was going to review Roberts and Alito regarding their testimony and how their recent decisions corroborated with their original testimony. But then again, it is Spector, so don't get your hopes up.

4. Naw, not getting my hopes up. I know how specter talks versus
what he does. But, does roberts? It just struck me weird.

5. If Roberts is so stressed out about a "Spector"
investigation he is a wimp and should step down now. There may be more to it. It is a fascinating coincidence, though. We can hope there is more to it!

11. I would phrase it a bit differently, if something such as this could
potentially harm his health, perhaps roberts should consider stepping down as chief justice and retiring to a less stressful position in the interests of taking care of himself and his family.

Did it sound convincing?

16. As I recall, there was a controversy over White House failure to
produce some relevant documents during the Roberts confirmation hearings. According to the report on the website linked below, Roberts reportedly argued against allowing damages to school girls under Title IX if the school ignored the problem. The first articles on this website concern the failure of the White House to produce documents related to Alito. The Roberts articles are further down on the page. I don't know whether the White House ever complied with the document requests. Judging from the direction the Court is taking, both Alito and Roberts are anti-equal-rights-for-women.

Senator Patrick Leahy, the ranking Democratic member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, yesterday sent a letter to the President on behalf of all of his Democratic colleagues on the Committee, pointing out that the White House hasn’t responded to “numerous” requests for documents related to Judge Roberts’ record, and that it has released some documents to the press but not to the Senate:

We understand that the process of reviewing the approximately 50,000 pages of relevant papers housed in the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, is well underway. Published reports state that the head of the Library has estimated that such a review would take three weeks, and the National Archive’s website estimates the documents will be made public by mid-August. Nonetheless, on August 5, 2005, it was reported in the Washington Post that the White House already has possession of some of those “Reagan-era” documents, and that someone in the White House had provided at least two of them to the newspaper . . . We are especially concerned that upon reviewing these documents someone in the White House provided them to the press but not to the Committee; if there are any other such documents we should receive them immediately.

6. Never believe a word Specter says. This is one of the most
craven guys in the Senate. I've watched him for years and can only believe that the people of his state love crooks.

7. Specter is a fucking liar and a false moderate
He is used to bring the pissed off sheep back into the Repuke flock by feigning outrage at the latest scandal to have independent resonance.

He is the new McCain, since McCain now has clearly shot his wad as an out and out PROSTITUTE for the Bush adminitration's failed policies.

Snowe does the same for Repuke women.

10. Yes, I think we agree on that. Does roberts know specter's
unfamiliarity with the truth? If not, could there be a weird coincidence between specter's announcement and robert's, possibly stress induced, seizure?

14. I doubt Roberts would be stressed out about Specter.
Leahy possibly, but not Magic Bullet Specter. The Bush Crime Family has seen to that.

15. Thanks for responding to the point of my poorly worded OP.
Very weird timing in a lot of ways; roberts having a second seizure after so many years, I mean.
