Do they have to disclose what is wrong with him?

1. I Don't Think So, But I Hope All Is Well.
Seizures are generally harmless, so hopefully there isn't some other underlying condition that is actually dangerous. Since he's had one before, and they are quite infrequent, I'm sure he's fine.

32. I have been having grand mals for twenty years
Not a single neurologist I've seen knows why.

The only thing that might affect Roberts, is he won't be able to drive. How long depends on the state.

I am sorry pastiche423. The brain is the organ of the body we know the least about its function. I hope they get to the bottom of this condition one of these days. Stem cell research is supported here. :toast:

a tough one to diagnose. He shows symptons of both Benign Rolandic and Landau-Kleffner (which is very rare).

12. I'm sorry about your nephew.
It's a frightening condition, and I had a good friend with it in grade school. My other first hand experience was that my beloved dog had idiopathic epilepsy. Excitement seemed to trigger his seizures, so we had to work to keep him calm (visitors to our house would usually trigger it). I would hold him while he had his seizures- usually lasting about 10 minutes.

He seems to have more seizures around holidays when family comes in. He's a bit of a ham. He exhibits symptons of both benign Rolandic and Landau-Kleffner.

13. Nothing to see here, move along.
Just one little seizure causing one to collapse on a pier and get an ambulance called and all that.

And one had a similar seizure before and rode the bus for a while, because, well it was the only safe thing.

31. Maybe this is sick, but
I wonder if they'll say the scans showed TMDs (tumors of mass destruction), operate on him to remove them, not find them, but still fiddle with his brain, saying something like, "We're fighting to free his mind."
I don't know, just wondering.

37. Posted this on another thread...Two seizures: Give Roberts what the rest of us get!
Roberts has now had TWO seizures...the one he had in 1993 left him with a suspended driver's license for several months (hopefully this one will too!)

Give him the full deal: Put a diagnosis on record, prescribe anti-seizure drugs, and kick him off the bench as unfit to serve. Let him suffer what the rest of us with epilepsy suffer from: Medication side-effects that make you feel like shit, discrimination, a medical condition that no insurance company will want to cover, and immediate disqualification from a shitload of jobs and careers.

Let him get a taste of the stripped-down Americans with Disabilities Act, since his court ruled that people with epilepsy "aren't disabled enough", and therefore are not entitled to reasonable accomodations on the job! Let Roberts get the discrimination but no accomodations! Just like the rest of us with epilepsy/seizure disorders!

Fuck Justice John Roberts!

Now if everyone will please excuse me, I have to take my next dose of 600 fucking milligrams of fucking Trileptal to control MY fucking seizures because my goddamned insurance company said the surgical procedure that could get me off medication is "experimental" and that they won't pay for it! AND they're 23 days LATE in responding to my appeal! I pay $432.50 per month for coverage when I'm 35 and otherwise healthy but because I have a SEIZURE DISORDER just like JUSTICE ROBERTS, this is the only insurance coverage I can get!

I'm so angry and enraged right now I'm getting a headache! I'm so sick of the "special treatment" these fucking assholes get while people like me have to fight for everything! Assholes!

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

Please forgive my foul-mouthed rant...I'm just so frustrated!!!

Roberts will never, sadly, feel your pain. Even/when he leaves he'll get a life time pension and medical coverage at the platinum level :(. Justice, in this case, is quite prejudiced!

46. You may want to check this site out
My nephew, and Godson, has a very difficult case of epilepsy and I know some of what you are going through. He may even have Landau-Kleffner. Much of the epilepsy protection offered by the ADA of 1990 was stripped by the SCOTUS in Sutton v. United Airlines back in 1998. Hoyer and Senenbrenner introduced the ADA Restoration Act of 2007, H.R. 3195. You may want to look at the link.

Best of luck.
