Edited on Tue Jul-31-07 03:20 PM by Texas Explorer
In answer to a question from Larry King: "Did you dispatch Andrew Card and Alberto Gonzales to Ashcroft's hospital room" to sign off on the secret NSA wire tapping program.

Impeach this motherfucker!!!

2. And gonzo was doing his best Fred Astaire
when someone on the committee asked him if bush told him to go to the hospital. Lying, fraud, fucking up - the conservative values keep rolling along.

4. And the last time he was on Larry King, didn't he utter the "last throes" ditty?
Seems like Cheney makes an annual pilgrimage to Larry King to trot out his latest outrageous lie.

7. He seemed to be obfuscating and
restless in the snippets they've shown so far.

This is one I won't be missing!

5. Gonzo's Hail Mary...
Crashcart doesn't grace our televisions unless he's got some agenda. I think this is to take the heat of Gonzo and misdirect it as only he can. And some of us saw the start of this campaign this morning with the "pro-Gonzo" callers on Washington Journal.

This soooo reminds me of movie where the wife walking in on the husband in the midst of cheating with his secretary. While the wife screams incredulously, the hubby casually gets dress, the young lady exits the room and in the end the wife things she's gone nuts.

King says to Blitzer something to the affect of "we just put it out there"...as though that's some plausible deniability to not follow up on such a ripe question. Larry King of 20 plus years ago would have gone for it...the corporate King would rather find out what Dick had for lunch.

Cheney on Trip to Ashcroft's Hospital Bedside: "I Don't Recall"
By Paul Kiel - July 31, 2007, 4:52 PM
From Dick Cheney's interview tonight with Larry King:
Q In that regard, The New York Times -- which, as you said, is not your favorite -- reports it was you who dispatched Gonzales and Andy Card to then-Attorney General John Ashcroft's hospital in 2004 to push Ashcroft to certify the President's intelligence-gathering program. Was it you?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: I don't recall -- first of all, I haven't seen the story. And I don't recall that I gave instructions to that effect.
Q That would be something you would recall.
THE VICE PRESIDENT: I would think so. But certainly I was involved because I was a big advocate of the Terrorist Surveillance Program, and had been responsible and working with General Hayden and George Tenet to get it to the President for approval. By the time this occurred, it had already been approved about 12 times by the Department of Justice. There was nothing new about it.
Q So you didn't send them to get permission.
THE VICE PRESIDENT: I don't recall that I was the one who sent them to the hospital.
