Kudos to Kieth Olbermann for his level headed reporting of this tragedy. |
|
He has repeated many times that there is no reason to think it's terrorism related, and that work was being done on the bridge.
No fear mongering, no BS, just the facts as he knows them delivered in a calm forthright manner.
At least we have one good talking head on TV.

Keith is one person who won't go around screaming terra, terra, terra, unless he has damned good reason to do so.

Not condoning it, just saying I understand how that mindset takes hold. When our government threatens us with terror every day, it's not a surprise that people see something bad happen and assume terrorism.

I may be idealistic, but I sure hope this attracts some kind of attention to the infrastructure issue. All the guns in the world won't help us if we can't get around our own country without fearing for our safety!

KO had a lot a pertinent information at his fingertips and remained focused on that which was relevant.
Cogent observation and reminders of our shared experiences before this.

35. Allison Stewart .... some months ago ....... |
|
She was sitting in for Keith, as I recall ...... that plane with the stuck landing gear was circling either LAX or John Wayne, preparatory to making possibly hard belly landing.
She was cool and calm and completely in charge. She calmly reported the facts and never once resorted to speculation or hyperbole. She interviewed 'experts' and cut in with facts as they were known.
The plane, as it happened, landed safely, albeit with a busted nose gear.
Watching Keith tonight is literally the next time I have seen that quality of reporting.
Good on air reporting used to be the norm. Now it is rare.
Aaron Brown on the morning and in in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 comes to mind as a quality on air guy.

He's calm and informative. He's reporting the FACTS - not rumors or speculation. He makes it very clear when information is unconfirmed and updates us as soon as he gets confirmation.
Keith Olbermann ... proving once again that unlike the "newsmodels" on the other cable news networks, he is much more than just a pretty face. :loveya: :patriot:
