This is the proven oil reserves in Iraq -
That is - of course - where it is going to blow up - you can see it on a map - about 20 miles south of Kirkuk - no crystal ball needed. 70% of the oil reserves are right there.

WE DON'T NEED THEM - damn it - forget the crap comming out about "corn" etc.. we DO have enough oil shale to run our cars for hundreds of years - let alone coal liquification. We just have to be prepared to pay 3 bucks a gallon - do you see the oil futures?? We are about to pay a lot more than that.

And you understand - if we did use those syns - not only do we not need the middle east - our money will STAY in the US - and we can give our people good jobs.

If we raised fuel standards - to the max - our cars still burn oil and will for a long time.

You know - Germany did this same thing - all those decades ago - same thing. And ran a war on two fronts and kept their economy going. This has been done.

If we planted every acre in corn in the US - developed every off shore possibility - it will not dent the problem. ANd then - how much food do we burn to do that??

It is not so green in the short run I guess - but you think - what are the consequences of not doing this - a third world war?? Cause if that is true - how much does being politically correct" even matter once your dead.

We have to have the short term solution - or we may never get to the long term problem.

Joe

1. Something you may laugh at, something you may wonder at,
but definitely something that is hard to dismiss, a thing to be dreamt of, a magic to be hoped for.

2. I don't speak German - this will take forever to load with my
modem and I don't count on miracles.

3. Sorry about that..... it is a vid on zero point energy, and if we ever
get to it, we'll be able to send all of our oil to the ME, cuz we simply won't need it.

4. Oh - it is ok.
Don't be sorry.

Maybe I am sorry - we should have moved on from oil by now as a society.

And we didn't.

5. You make a good point.
I'm a land/easement acquisition agent working in the Barnett Shale area (west of DFW). B/C of new technology we can safely and economically harvest the natural gas. For the small towns in this area it has been a boom. And US workers are getting well paying jobs.
