I am so freaked out...!
All I have been thinking about for the last 2 weeks is the "Mothman Prophecies"
It just came to my mind about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I had followed it for awhile after I saw the movie.
I thought the movie was just kinda strange and weird.
But I had been thinking about it.
Then last week I took my son to basketball camp and there was a van in the parking lot that had a bumper sticker that said "The Mothman Prophecies".
I went to the web site and read the lastest info.
And it kinda stayed in my mind.
And now I am freaked out hearing about this bridge collapse...
Is it just me?

1. Yes.
You might also want to include the title and spoiler warnings for people who haven't seen the movie.

3. Yeah, I know, I've seen the movie.
But other people haven't, and they might be upset that you've ruined the surprise.

Ya have to be a subscriber or something.

I presume some guy in the movie predicted a bridge collapsing?

Hes probably the same guy who predicted there will be an earthquake in south east asia?

Or am i totally wrong.

9. Because she just thought of the movie a few weeks ago.
Now if she had seen the movie a few weeks after the bridge collapsed... hen that would have been proof.

Proof of what you ask?

Yes, exactly.

14. Jung called it "collective consciousness"
Oscar Wilde also noted that art and life sometimes mirror.
Interesting that you had been thinking about it so much.

I have known other people who have had similar experiences-
Ever read about the EGG project?
Goes hand in hand with Jung's theory about the
collective conscious.

Have a glass of wine while you check it out.
Ignore the smart asses who make fun of you on this thread.
Not nice, but fairly predictable behaviour for some of them.

I just told my aunt that this bridge collapse reminded me of that movie too.

21. That's eerie. Wasn't "The Mothman Prophecies" based on a
true story?

I have to admit, I also thought about that movie when I heard about the bridge collapse as well. I wonder if we'll here about any stories coming out in the next few days where people had premonitions or visions of the bridge collapsing.

19. Let's everybody help Buttercup calm down...ok?
It is 6:30 am and I just when to check up on the Mothman info...
I found this in wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Bridge

Urban legends
Odd events in the area over several months before the collapse, including appearances of a "Mothman," led to a 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies by John A. Keel. The 2002 "based on a true story" movie of the same name is not set in the 1960s, but in the present day. Point Pleasant has a Mothman Museum and holds an annual Mothman Festival.
An older theory blames the collapse on a legendary curse of the area by Shawnee Chief Cornstalk, who was murdered nearby during the American Revolutionary War.

I-35W Mississippi River Bridge, built the same year the Silver Bridge collapsed and opened a month before (1967) failed in 2007 under similar high traffic conditions (being of a different structural type the failures are not otherwise related)

Who updated this b/w 6 last night and 6 this am...?

23. Ohio Silver Bridge
I'm not familiar with the Mothman Prophecies, but as soon as Mr. Dem heard about the Minneapolis bridge, he started talking about the Ohio Silver Bridge that collapsed in 1967. Both are terrible tragedies.
