I probably wouldn't be a big seller of the market in
August if I were you.

The fall - that is different.

Also known as a "short" position".... "puts" are very attractive right now... but its a little late. You needed to have those before last Thurs.
Its been a very profitable week... I think a vacation is in order.

12. Just don't sell right now - it is just my opinion.
But I do think there is a wave count right now. And if there is - 4th wave hits in August -

5th wave hits in the fall. And it should be a doozy. You know elliot you know you got the same warnings.

Just me.

5. I suggest rideing it out. It of course depends on how you are
invested. If you are in individual stocks and most are RE, you have a problem. Mine are in mutual funds. I've been through this before, and the people that get hurt are those that panic. Stick it out and the market panic will subside and all will be well.

17. Nope! Not quite! I'm talking about 1987 when I was going nuts!
See, I had never had any money to invest in anything, and when we sold our first home, I took $10,000 from the profits and invested it in a fund recommended by a friend, the rest we put down on another house. Oct. 1987 the market crashed and I was so upset with that friend & the idiot broker who lead a novice investor into a false security. I pulled the ramaining balance out of THAT fund and put it in another and simply accepted the fact that what was going to happen will happen. It took a tad over a year, but I recovered all the losses.

A similar think happened when the "tech bubble" burst. By then I had a bit more money in mutual funds from rollovers from former 401K's. My balance went from $225,000 down to $110,000! Not a good think when you are almost 50! But I decided to stick with what I had, and I'm close to being back to where I was.

BTW, I'm old, but 1929???? Naw, not THAT OLD!

19. I remember 1987 - I was a series 27 officer then.
Financial/Operations Principal - I still have nightmares about that.

When it broke - those three days - I was making net capital computations every 30 minutes.
And there were those idiots jumping up and down - cause they were short S&P positions.

I shit in my pants and went in asking for checks to keep the damn thing going.

I was so young and so scared.

You know - when you get that license - the SEC makes you take this oath - that you are supposed to be the one, when it fails to meet net capital - to padlock the door and all that.

I don't ever want to remember those days.

Joe

9. Agree ... If your long don't sell... (unless your holding financials or home builders)...
On the other hand, for those of us that have been hemorrhagic of our $$$ since Jan, it great to see our predictions come true.
If this market keeps dropping (as it should), this will be a very good year (income-wise) for sure. At least for some of us.

16. Man - I only do stock predictions for me.
If you follow elliot - I do - Then they would say - it only completed three waves. It has make to a 4th wave before 5 completes the cycle. And then it will correct A-B-C.

4th wave is up - in some kind of fibinachi ratio - but when the fith wave hits - get the hell out of the way.

This has to be August by all counts. 5 wave should not complete til the fall.

IMO -

Joe

Now if your long in tech or raw materials... yeah your right... dont be short there in Aug.
Of course I'm assuming the cat of which we speak is homeless and can't get a loan.

18. Oh - I only hold debt.
I pulled all the DIA puts I had. ANd I will not own stock at all right now.

Probably pulled a little early.

This is a dead cat bounce coming. That bounce that happens right before it kills your cat.

hahaha.
