Spineless is the word which best represents Congress:
"A House committee investigating Patrick Tillman's death by friendly fire agreed Thursday to off-the-record interviews with White House aides."

http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Former_White_House_aides_to_be_0802.html

Its off the record, not under oath, NO ACCOUNTABILITY

Wow, what a tough stand, NOT

Of course it should surprise no one that bush is what he is today because of congress, and the people who helped enable him

afraid to impeach, afraid to use the L word(LIE), afraid not to vote against the IWR or the patriot act

What kind of people are we?

2. yes, but looking at their past, I am pretty confident that they won't
they don't want this to go to the Supreme Court if executive privledge is invoked

Funny, but when Bill Clinton first took office, he tried to institute election reform, and public financing of election. It was the Democrats in Congress who put a stop to it.

however, misrepresentations were never pursued. Just look at the overt perjury committed by the Attorney General, they will not call it perjury, they will not call it lying, but they call it mis-speaking, and give him a chance to correct the record

Gosh, do you think they would do that for me?

3. The People Aren't The Problem
The problem is the politicians that we elected, believing them when they said that they would hold this administration accountable. They have done a few things, but for the most part they have done very little on the accountability front, and at this point in time I don't expect them to.

What will help to convince me is Harry Reid keeping his word about keeping enough Senators around so that Bush doesn't try to slip in more recess appointments, if he fails in that then I'll be more convinced that it doesn't matter if it's a D or and R, there isn't that much of a difference between the two.

Those who want to flame me go ahead, I could give a damn, I'm not here to be your friend, I'm not here to make nice, I'm here to express an opinion whether or not anyone agrees with it, just like everyone else.

The ball is in Senator Reid's court now, so let's all sit back and see if he does what he said he was going to do, to prevent the Fuhrer from appointing ass kissing sycophants to cabinet positions and federal judgeships.

I'll bring the popcorn.:)

6. Actually the people have a responsibility also. The "red" states have been voting against
their own interests for some time now. They were led to believe that gay marriage and flag burning were more important than keeping jobs here, pre-emptively attacking a country based on lies, etc.
