Anyone have any ideas why the Bushies are so Johnny on the Spot on the Bridge?
I am not in any way trying to downplay the tragedy of what happened to that bridge...but, we have all been watching the Shrub ignore catastrophes for what? seven years? The guy could barely be bothered to read a newspaper as a major city in the US all but disappeared in a hurricane, for God's sake.

So, what's with all the attention now?

Is there something the clowns want to cover up, or what?

14. Exactly!
They definitely don't want this gaping hole in 35W in a year when the RNC rolls into town to peddle their shit.

Of course, they don't have much of the building season to go, and they can only do so much during the winter months here. Odds are they won't be able to finish the bridge before Sept '08.

34. Whether they
finish or not you can bet they WILL throw as much as they can at it to milk ever bit of PR they can squeeze out of it. You watch how fast they get started and how much extra will go into the project.

33. Yep. 'Pug gov. plus white people involved = Royal Bushie "Action" Photo Op
Edited on Thu Aug-02-07 08:32 PM by tom_paine
Besides, letting New Orleans drown, in terms of Royal Bushie Political Opprtunity to evict hundreds of thoudsands of Black People (90% Democratic, for that double-whammy that would make a Royal Bushie gleeful), and take back Lousiaina for the KKK/CCC/Loyal Bushie crowd.

Trust me, if by ignoring this tragedy the Busheis could gain that kind of advantage, they would do it in a heartbeat.

27. Several reasons
1. the governor is a Republican who vetoed a bi-partisan bill to raise gas taxes to pay for road improvements

2. the GOP convention is to be in Minneapolis next year

3. the bridge collapse didn't primarily impact the poor minorities in Minneapolis

39. Time to 'solve' our vastly "expensive" infrastructure "problem" by privatization
The Ruthless spent little time before figuratively standing on the collapsed bridge supported by drowned commuters still in their submerged and crushed cars to call for "fixing" our infrastructure by selling it off, all the while ignoring how they've failed to maintain that same infrastructure all these years.

Beyond arrogance, beyond gall, beyond morality, ethics, dignity, or respect do the ruthless carry forward their plans.
