30 "missing"..

How many people are "missing" but no one knows it yet?

Whole families on driving vacations could have been on that bridge, and until they don;t arrive back home in Tennessee or Kansas or Georgia, who's "missing" them?

That was part of an interstate highway, and millions of people drive the interstates..not just local people who are immediately tagged as missing :(

1. I was wondering that myself. I live far away from my parents/siblings, and they

don't always hear from me every week, or know where I am. I'm sure it's the same for many others.

2. Local radio just said "dozens" of cars are trapped

under the wreckage. The span isn't stable and it will be a while before they retrieve whatever bodies are down there. Maybe weeks.

3. It's too bad they cannot send divers down to just remove the license plates

then they could publish the numbers and get a good idea of who might have been in the cars..

4. On the local radio

station it was reported that divers were taking the numbers off of the plates so that names could start being cheked.

6. Currents and jagged debris makes it very dangerous for divers

7. Last night I asked Janet when she thought we'd see FEMA!!!

We only 'know' of 30 missing... What about long-haul truckers, people travelling as a group. It looks really really bad when you get up close. It's a horrible scene. It's cut the city center in half!
