I'm sure the Freepers' solution to the infrastructure/bridges problem is
PRIVATIZATION of course!
Toll booths at every single bridge in the country!
With all the money going directly to, of course, the corporations with the best lobbyists.
And of course, massive subsidies paid for by you and me...

1. Oh, FFS, you totally missed it, brother.
The Freepers would solve the infrastructure/bridges problem without privatization. Easily.

They'd fight the roads and bridges "over there" so that we don't have to fight them over here.

Duh.

2. You both have half of it.

Step 1: Privatize
Step 2: Sell privatized road to foreign country, so all toll revenue heads out of the country.

9. I love "those that use it pay for it."

The Commons become inaccessible to those that can not afford to pay the toll: Roads, parks, beaches & bridge crossings. And if paying is unheard of cut the funding...and so our public libraries are disappearing speeding the national demise.

10. But thank goodness people didn't have to pay taxes!

Can you imagine the horror of seeing your tax dollars go to books for OTHER people to read?

Man it's depressing how many people feel that way.

The commons need to stay common. When the government privatizes something to the point that the citizens cannot use what was formerly theirs, they effectively eliminate those citizens.

If you can't get from point A to point B because the roads become private, how do you protest?

Ack.

6. No, see, what you do is, you buy your own personal private bridge.
It attaches to the front of your car, and as you approach the river you press a button in the car and the bridge whoop-whoop-whoop unfolds from the front of your car and stretches itself across the gap from one bank to the other. You press another button that unhooks it from the front end of your car, then drive across it. When you reach the other side, you press a button and whoop-whoop-whoop the bridge refolds itself and attaches to the back of your car, and you drive on.

This way, the cardinal conservative values of personal responsibility and avoiding having to pay for anything anyone else might also use are fulfilled. You have to pay for the bridge yourself, and no one else gets to use the bridge you paid for. If they want to cross, they have to buy their own bridge. And of course, if you don't own a car and have no need to drive across the river, you don't have to pay for a bridge that only other people will use.

I'm sure it will be a big hit during the Republican convention. I hope all their rental cars will be pre-equipped. I'm sure they'll be happy to pay extra.

8. Oh come on, you all KNOW the right answer
Declare war on Iran and let someone else go fight it. And pay for it.
