McCain relies on supporters to drive him to events now.
I snip the report to the fun detail

DERRY, N.H.

- John McCain's slide in the presidential race shows up everywhere on the campaign trail.

His staff drastically reduced and his organization nearly broke, McCain flies commercial instead of on private jets, carries his own luggage and relies on supporters to drive him to events, including one who pulled away from a Rotary meeting last week with a flat rear tire.

On Monday, he missed a fundraising breakfast in Pittsburgh because his commercial flight was canceled. He called in by speakerphone to the 30 supporters in a hotel conference room.

10. I think he REALLY wants to be Prez, and I also think the Pub
leadership promised him back in 2000 if he'd back off and let their boy win this one, he'd be the man in 2008! He's been counting on that support for 6+ years, and now I don't think he can face the fact that it's just not going to happen!

11. What a sad shell of a once significant man
Johnny, save some face.

Go.

Rest.

Put your feet up.

Tell the story of what happened to you in 2000 that so badly scared the shit out of you.

Talk.

It will feel good.

12. I do feel sorry for him
I don't know what happened to him. The slide downhill is amazing. The lack of empathy when he defended torture made no sense to me. Something dreadfully wrong with the whole picture. Does not make sense.

16. I'm glad he'll never be the president, but something about this end to his career
makes me a little sad. I don't doubt that he has a genuine love of country. He's just had his head straight up his ass for (at least) the last 7 years or so. It's time to go home old soldier, take a nap, maybe work on a book, fade away.
