Is our local departments of highway learning?
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 07:35 AM by Hubert Flottz
What's white and blue and sleeps 3?
A West Virginia Department of Highways(DOH)truck...

One day a DOH manager here in WV got a frantic call from one of his road foremen out in the field. The foreman told his boss that his crew had noticed after they had arrived at an emergency job site they'd been sent out on, that they'd gone off from the yard and forgotten to bring any of their shovels with them. The big boss thought for a minute and then replied to the foreman, "We'll send you a truck load of shovels right out, but in the meantime, you guys just lean on each other until the shovels arrive!"

One day the DOH foreman called 911 and told them to send out an ambulance to the job site ASAP, because they had a man down with a heart attack. The paramedics hauled 31 men off that job site after they got there, before they got the right man!

Do you hear stories like this about your state highway workers, or is it just here in West Virginia that the DOH workers catch hell?
