Al Franken temporarily suspends Minnesota Senate campaign . . .
in light of the tragedy in Minneapolis.

A very good letter on the front page of his campaign's website: http://www.alfranken.com/

Al's a good guy.

2. Yes. And I believe when he finally has something to say about this
whole tragedy it will be worth a listen. He must be terribly sad and also mad as hell.

5. He said it all here:
I also wanted to let you know that, for the time being, we’re suspending our campaign’s activities.

Franni and I want to extend our thoughts and prayers to the families of those who have lost their lives,
and those who are still missing. And we want to thank the first responders and Good Samaritans, who
reacted so quickly, courageously, and skillfully to rescue and comfort those in danger. We are blessed
to have heroes for neighbors.

3. But Norm Coleman continued on, as I understand it.....
Can't let a tragedy stand in the way of raising money, especially if you're a vulnerable Repug.

8. As crazy as he got it telling some jokes on AAR, he is a sensitive human
human. He loses it whenever he tells certain stories about Paul Wellstone and I tear up just thinking about him remembering his friend.

11. Yes. And he himself tears up
when talking about the troops he's visited too. Great guy.

4. While Norm still campaigns...
At least ol' Normie isn't on television every day to remind people that he isn't campaigning, like he did when Paul Wellstone died.

Norm's days are numbered, and he knows it.

And you're right; Al's a good guy. Got to meet him at a book signing once.

7. That letter made me get all teary eyed. Those first responders were featured
on Good Morning America today and they interviewed two of them: a hispanic man and a woman, plus they showed footage of her swimming around and going into a flooded car. Franken did the right thing by mentioning them in his letter.

At least the Bushies can't do a number on "locals" the way they did after Katrina. And they sure as hell can't go after their Republican governor.
