August 3, 2007 -- Republican presidential front-runner Rudy Giuliani told New Jersey beach residents yesterday that America must remain on offense against Islamic terrorism, citing the thwarted plan to blow up the Fort Dix military base.

"America is under pressure by Islamic terrorists," Giuliani told customers at the popular Ocean Bay Diner in Point Pleasant.

"We thank God that we haven't been attacked in the last five . . . years. I think the policies of being on the offensive have helped to do that."

I HATE it when people say this shit. Just like the guy a few weeks ago who was going to "blow up an Air Force base" - I mean, REALLY.

Short of useing a nuke, nobody can blow up a base. A base is a huge plot of land, usually with at least dozens if not hundreds of building dispersed over a wide are.

You can blow up something ON a base. You cannot blow up a base.

If a half dozen guys were to attack Ft Dix, they might do a little damage. But they are not a threat to the existance of the base, much less the nation.

Let's have a little perspective here.
