Why are the number of dead and missing numbers being scaled
back daily? If 50 cars went over the bridge how come only eight people are supposedly missing. Is this a repeat of the scaling back of numbers following Katrina? I do not trust these people.

1. Maybe some of the missing people showed up?
It happens you know.
Sheesh, not everything is a conspiracy.

6. Some people who were listed as missing were being found
in hospital beds.

12. According to MSNBC, city officials are uncomfortable
with the numbers given by the Sheriff. Those were the numbers that raised my eyebrows - four dead and eight missing.

2. I don't know about that. This morning the heads are talking about the
young children in some of those cars. One was two years old traveling with her mother. Her last phone call said she was stuck in traffic on the bridge.

Scaling back the number to eight is absurd. Were thirty to fifty cars driven by remote control?

3. Apparently people are calling MSM to complain
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 09:35 AM by malaise
MSNBC just changed the number of dead from four to six and instead of eight missing now show 'an unknown number of people missing'. That's all we want - honesty not a cover up.

"Six confirmed dead; exact number of missing unknown" is their new headline.

4. Positive spin, baby.
I feel MUCH HAPPIER knowing that there are only a few dead people. If there were more, why I trust the MSM completely to tell me the truth.

:sarcasm:

8. Yah think?
One eye witness said he saw six dead people on the bridge.

Another thing - I wish they'd stop telling me that Mrs Stepford Bush is heading there to empathize with people. She's going to a pre-planned Rethug gathering.

5. I asked yesterday how come the night of the
accident there were 7 confirmed dead, but yesterday when I got up there were only 4. Then last night the number of missing changed to 8. Does anyone live there who can go to the city morgue and investigate on the fatalities?
One of the first people interviewed after the collapse said there was bumper to bumper traffic on that bridge. In fact one lady that was interviewed said she took another bridge because traffic was moving so slow on the I35W. How many cars would at least 2 lanes make over a span that long?

7. I read earlier
That the bridge was 1907 feet long. if you give 25 feet of space per car and two lanes for traffic that amounts to about 150 cars on the bridge. But 18 wheelers go about 100 feet of space. So it would be less than 150. If bumper to bumper I would have expected at least 100 vehicles on te bridge.

10. It's always good news if numbers are down but
since they suspended underwater recoveries yesterday, 'unknown' number of missing is only honest assessment.

a lot of them are empty...

15. The number of dead went down because
the media was getting reports from paramedics, hospitals and other people on scene but the "Official" number went down because that was the number of bodies at the Hennepin County Coroners Office.
