Giuliani defends his "Princess bride", Judith Stish Ross Nathan Giuliani
Bachrach details the new life of the Princess Bride, “when they are not boarding private Gulfstream IV jets to Europe or trying to woo voters, shuttle between a $4 million Hamptons house and a $5 million nine-room Upper East Side apartment near Madison Avenue, its dining room walnut-paneled and crammed with crystal, china, and linen from Scully & Scully..."There is a reason why she wore that tiara at her wedding: she really does see herself as a princess," a former Giuliani aide told the magazine. "Not as a queen. Queen is her goal. Queen is who she wants to be."

Here's a tidbit on one of the few 2008 spouses who's actually been OUT of the news for the last few weeks. Sandwiched among the health-care policy questions posed to Giuliani at an afternoon press conference today came one about the latest profile of the mayor's wife, Judith Nathan. A reporter asked Giuliani to respond to an article in the September issue of Vanity Fair that takes a fairly unflattering tone in its headline of his third wife as his "princess bride."

Giuliani replied that he has "quickly" looked over the piece, and he called its characterization of an attached-at-the-hip relationship with his wife "very incorrect." And the temperature in balmy New Hampshire might have dropped just a tad when he concluded, "One of the terrible prices that unfortunately families pay in a situation like this is that they get castigated and attacked. And, usually, most reporters don't even ask about it. They actually have more dignity than to ask about it."

5. Jeez, I dunno.. Clinton's bl*wjob made it above-the fold on NYT page 1
so I think Giuliani's sordid hypocrisy (wooing RWnut conservatives, his anti-porn jihad as mayor, conducting extramarital affairs w/gold-digging shallow social-climbers whom he dumped his family for) is fine for GD!

3. Look, I don't care for either or both of them, but WTF do you expect
Giuliani to do? He has to defend his wife if he has any kind of decency, even if there is a modicum of truth behind the story. I can't take that away from him.

OTOH I think she has to answer her critics, not him.

7. Remember when Rudy tried to shut down the Brooklyn Museum because of "obscene art?"
Since Giuliani has always claimed to be "Mr. Morality" I think that it is fair to ask him about his THREE wives. He moved this one into the mayor's city-funded house while he was still married to wife #2.

These are legitimate questions for the press to ask, as they arise from the apparent contradiction between what Mr. Giuliani says and what he does. He's running for president of the U.S. Don't we have a right to know if the candidate has a history of saying one thing and doing another?

9. No the real problem with Rudy is not that he is
"sort of" defending her now (while attacking the press as a bonus and playing the victim), but that he married her in the first place. That speaks volumes. Of course he didn't just marry her, he left his wife and the mother of his children to do so, humiliating his first wife in the process.

Well, I can only cover so much sleazy Rudy history in one post unfortunately. :) There's more than enough for several threads, I'm sure.:hi:

13. I agreed with your post - not meaning to sound snarky.
I just don't miss an opportunity to point out what a creepy hypocrite is Giuliani. Not a nice man at all.

11. God my head hurts. Hey Ghouliani, why don't you tell us
why building seven was destroyed and while you're at it, what happened to all the crimescene evidence from Ground Zero.

This traitor is a non-person to me. And so is his wife.
