When will we finally have had enough and take to the streets |
|
When will the people rise up and demand that our government hand over bu$h, cheney, rove and gonzo. When will we march on the capitol and demand that the Constitution be restored fully?
People it is time we rise up against these fuckers because those we sent to Washington to do so are too fucking weak and worthless.
RISE UP AMERICANS, We must take it back ourselves.

They're too busy watching Big Brother and American Idol. Their rights are being taken away and the sheep don't give a shit. I have had it; I am looking for a job somewhere else.

I'll come right back at you with the snark. Subject verb agreement would be "assholes that pass for citizens," not passes. Basic grammar.
& now for the not-snark part of the program--- I'm not calling for revolution, I'm more a believer in evolutionary change. My point in response to the original post (to spell it out a bit more) is that the people are not going to rise up and take to the streets, at least I will be very very surprised if they do. The United States is just too big a place and quite disparate. Plus the people who actually even have the inclination to take to the streets (at least to do something about the things that bother us on the left) are a minority, possibly a substantial minority, but a minority just the same.
These calls to take to the streets are understandable, but any expectation of it happening or not getting squashed is quixotic as far as I am concerned. There is a lot of preaching to the choir here at DU and a lot of hot air coming from the keyboard and I suppose the venting makes people feel better but what does it accomplish? Not much.
Change is going to come through a step by step process and it will take time.
Lots of people seem to think that this entrenched power of the Bushistas, which has been building over a period of time, can just be magically swept away overnight. Well, it's just not going to happen that way, even after the elections of 2006 and even if a Democrat becomes president in 2008. There's plenty of evidence of this, just look around at how things are going right now.
