Pelosi & Reid are gone as Dem leaders, toast |
|
Edited on Sat Aug-04-07 09:28 PM by OzarkDem
This fiasco, easily won in the court of public opinion, was completely mishandled by these corrupt idiots.
From this day forward we need to work to get rid of them.
They are ineffective, incompetent and will cost us the Congressional majority as well as the White House.

4. There are plenty of other Dems who can take over leadership |
|
I'm not talking about their seats - their districts and states can keep them.
We have to replace them as leaders in Congress, they are corrupt and incompetent.

then you don't even need to pay attention to the dialogue. It must be convenient.

A DEMOCRAT board? WTF? For chrissakes, the name of the goddamned board is DEMOCRATIC Underground. I have to hear "Democrat this, Democrat that" from BushBots day in and day out, I sure as hell don't want to find that bullshit here of all places...

Actually, I said "Democrat" because "Democratic" would leave a door open for the Sheehanites to snark about the board not being "Democratic". I should have known a language censor would weigh in, too. :eyes:

Sometimes you have to make an executive decision and jettison leaders who aren't getting the job done.
Perhaps you can give me a reason why we need to keep ineffective Dem leadership?

on the other hand, I don't know why any Dem Leader would even attempt to keep up with the avalanche of changing demands made on them by us voters, if schizophrenic, often frustrating, now sadly ridiculous DU is any example. They just can't win!
They do one thing, the collective We stomp our feet, shout like spoiled children and insist that they suck and should be replaced because they didn't do the other thing too! And who do they set out to please? We can't even agree on a site like DU and Reid and Pelosi are supposed to "please us"? I mean, ALL of us?!?! C'mon. It's frightfully easy to armchair quarterback and throw out sentences like "they're gone, they're toast", but, until I'm in the room with them, I'm not going to judge.
Imagine how hard our lives would be if the same criteria we harshly judge them by were used to judge us. And I write this understanding that it'll go over the heads of most of you -- as often happens when one is holding their face 'till they turn blue and hungry for blood -- and I'll probably get flamed, but, truth be told, I'm way beyond over DU. Canceling my upcoming donation(s) and taking a break. I did High School years ago and don't feel the need to do it again (which is often how it feels coming here).
As you were.

Staffers won't take a pay cut, they'll just lose a little prestige. Pelosi staffers can beef up their resume and find a job they like - in the GOP caucus.

|
Surely there has to be somebody there who could put together an effective challenge without any danger of losing the seat to a repub (not that it seems to make any difference). I'd be willing to contribute.

The rest of us need new leadership. And that would really bother the GOP. Imagine how fearful they would be if Conyers were Speaker or Feingold were head of the Senate.
