Don't leave the party, Demand THEY leave the party (Blue Dogs/DLC)
It's clear, running off the names of yea voters for this FISA bill, that those two groups have got to go. Every time a piece of Constitution-shredding, Shrub-enabling bills comes up, these right-wing numbskulls always swing the vote.

They should be honest with themselves and go join the Republican Party. Before anyone says to me that would end the Democratic majority, looking at these results I have to say: WHAT Democratic majority?

2. The only thing that would rid us of the DLC would be another...
great depression, in which the masses would be forced to vote for REAL Democrats.

4. Or...you can begin an education process to teach the masses why blue Dogs
aren't Democrats.

Do you think most of them know by now that Lieberman isn't a Democrat? Start there.

3. ya know, I was thinking about this a little while ago. Why do some Dems
always seem to stray from the Party vote. The one I had a conversation on Du about was Webb. These guys are sent to DC to vote the way their constituents want them to...right? What if their offices received a lot of phone calls and emails that said "Here's what I want you to do"? That's what I want from MY Senators and Rep! We may not like what the people in another tate want, but isn't it the job of their Senators and Reps. to vote the way THEY want?

5. Blue Armchair Quarterbacking...
Many people here live in comfy Blue districts...big cities where Repugnicans live "out there"...and can't see the dynamics at play in the red and purple areas.

The Democratic party is not a monolith...it's always been a coalition of many groups joined in some common cause. Many of the "Blue Dogs" were in districts where they either just squeeked by in the '06 elections and/or have more registered Repugnicans in their districts than Democrats. Many of these areas didn't even have Democratic parties a few years ago...we're playing catch-up in many of these areas.

The problem of a vote that is characterized as "national security" is that many of these districts still see any vote against this regime as a sign of weakness...these are where the 30%ers are more like the 50%ers and no doubt many who voted to enable this regime with this awful bill were more worried about being seen as "weak" on "terror" and how this would come back to bite them in next year's election.

Dr. Dean's 50-state plan is planting seeds that are just starting to take root...hopefully a few purple districts will turn blue next year and a few red ones will turn purple.

6. Yeah, let's force out the FISA supporters. AND the socialists.
Let's have a party that's pure. That will work well at electing candidates, in a two-party system.

:hippie:
