3. Murdoch Wants HRC to Win the Democratic Nomination and Lose to the Ghoul |
|
Is it really that hard to figure out?
Murdoch hasn't suddenly come to his senses and decided that he wants the Democrats to win. He would never have as much power under a Democratic administration as he does now.
He wants to stick us with Hillary 51%-would-never-vote-for-her Clinton. That would ensure a Repiglickin victory in the general election.

4. I'm unhappy with her for the India caucas. |
|
She wants to increase the number of h-1b visas so more Indians can come here and fill IT jobs. There are American IT professionals out of work already. Is she in favor of more middle class Americans losing their jobs? Most of the H-1b Indians who come here for IT jobs are usually young and male. That contributes to racial, sex and age discrimination in the IT profession.
I don't want to vote for her, but she is better than any of the pubs.

5. Obama is better than Hillary, but Edwareds is better. |
|
I don't think the Edwards campaigne would embrace my remarks but the truth is about a white male vs a woman or black male. Guess what? Obama must prove that he is whiter than he is black. Hillary must prove that she is the second black american to be POTUS. Neither will happen.
WTF can't these leaders be content with being leaders in the Senate where we need them most?
I think that Edwards is the real deal, if we want some change. If you don:t want some change, the Dems can still offer you plenty of options that don't change a thing.

27. Edwards' dad worked in a textile mill and borrowed $50 to take him home from the hospital... |
|
No one in Edwards' family had any significant amount of money. John worked and put himself through college, and earned all the wealth he has today from his efforts.
He is wealthy today, and he readily admits it.
However, you never forget what it is like to grow up without wealth, and he is sincere about giving others the same opportunities to prosper like he did.

8. She's the perfect candidate for Murdoch. |
|
Murdoch wants the GOP to run against her because she's the only thing that'd get the right-wing base out to vote in a big way. And even if the inconceivable happened and she won, so what? She's DLC anyway. It's win/win.
Remember they had their meeting a few months back, and Murdoch's media sort of backed off of her afterwards? I don't know if she's so egocentric that she could be blind to the reasons Murdoch supports her, or if she just doesn't care so long as she gets the nomination. Either way, she's another DLC corporate stooge.

9. It's unclear to me if this is money from Murdoch himself or from execs at Fox Entertainment Network. |
|
Those guys work at the home of "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy." They're Hollywood; they contribute to Democrats. They are under Murdoch's ownership, but they are not connected to Fox News in any way except that common ownership. They appear to operate freely, or the two shows mentioned would not be on the air.

11. Well, there's the rub |
|
Murdoch is connected to so many things, when one says Clinton is taking contributions from Rupert Murdoch, what exactly does that mean? I guess I'll have to do my own research because I haven't read anything more enlightening on the GD or GDP threads.

I think! A lot of people work under Murdoch's ownership who don't agree with his political views.

19. I think it was News Corp that the donations come under |
|
And News Corp is more than Fox News. Interestingly, Murdoch/News Corp also donated to Sen. Kerry's senate campaign in 2001. I don't think News Corp donations can be assumed to always represent that the donee's politic's match Murdoch's personal politics. I tend to think it has more to do with what's good for business. Before, Hillary Clinton gets singled out, it might be wise to see how the other candidates are getting News Corp money in perhaps less direct ways.

21. At some point the usefulness of money DOES NOT trump the despicable source of the money... |
|
All candidates have to struggle with the unrelenting need for more campaign money, but that is where the character and conscience should kick in.
The argument that 'I will take their money and use it against them' holds little water.
Just like Democrats should not treat Fox News like a real News Media Organization, Candidates should no treat Murdock like he is just another interested citizen who wants to contribute to their campaigns --because he is not just another interested citizen, and he has an agenda.
If HRC were to become the Dem Nominee I would support her, but I sure would be wary of her stand on this issue --and I think many would be looking over her shoulder to see what Murdock got for his money.
HRC, Take the Edwards Pledge and do not accept campaign contributions from Murdock and News Corp. It is the right thing to do.

28. She has received a few thousand from News Corp execs |
|
and Murdoch has thrown her fundraisers and has contributed directly to her.
Much of that likely is based on her being good for the telecom industry in terms of deregulation and ownership, as was her husband. Those are issues that obviously matter a lot to Murdoch.
However Hillary is naive if she is to believe that this will lead to better coverage. She will be smeared by Murdoch's media empire if she gets the nomination. Murdoch's main man at Fox, Roger Ailes, is a MAJOR Giulliani supporter (there was an NYT story on this a few days ago).
