When the IWR was on the table, we said "Saddam isn't a threat. He doesn't have WMDs. This is a con."

Did they listen? No. Far too many Dems joined the party and voted us into a war we didn't need and didn't want and now can't get out of.

When the Patriot Act came up, we said "They're going to take this as far as they can. Give them an inch and they'll take a light year." Well, that also proved to be the case. Right again, damn our eyes.

We swallowed the war vote, the Patriot Act, the Bankruptcy Bill, unwarranted eavesdropping, the Downing Street Minutes, and every shit sandwich this administration and its Republican cronies served up to us. And when the time came, we put our time, effort, and money into electing people who'd stand up to this crowd and actually represent US.

But now they've gone and given Bush and Gonzo (sounds like a bad Vaudeville act, doesn't it?) unprecedented levels of power, against our loud and forthright protestations. They knew GODDAMN WELL we wouldn't approve of this and they went ahead and did it anyway. Sixteen Senators and FORTY ONE (alleged) Democratic Representatives went against the will of the people who put them into office and handed this whole ball of wax to someone they DAMN WELL know is a liar and a scoundrel.

I'd like to ask "What the fuck were they thinking?" but, frankly, what would be the point? It doesn't matter what they were thinking.

Come six months down the road, when the bill is to "sunset" I'm sure they'll find a way to leverage another "aye" vote from the same fucking Democratic "representatives."

In the meantime, these filthy motherfuckers will be using these expanded powers to their tiny hearts' content and, when questioned about it, some dumb sonofabitch is going to say "we had no idea they'd do this. No one could have known."

And we'll say "BULLSHIT!"

We've known all along what kind of people these were. And the whole time you've been ignoring us, treating us like the lunatic fringe when we've been right every damned time. No WMDs. No threat from Iraq. A President and a Vice President so power-hungry that the Constitution is meaningless to them.

It's just a good damn thing none of my locals voted for this. Because I may well have hung up my well-worn critic's badge and taken one of them on in the next election. I know what it feels like to have to pluck a knife from my back. And this feels remarkably similar.

This is all I have to say to the Filthy Fifty-Seven now.

"You folks remember the Constitution, right? That's the thing you swore to uphold? Do you really think THIS vote truly honors the spirit of that vow?

If you, Mr. Mrs. or Ms. CONGRESSCRITTER, aren't going to represent us, we'll damn well find people who will. And, unlike yourselves, they won't have any qualms about going for blood in the next race.

but the time has come to find some love for Big Brother. We are only thought criminals who are lost in our infected states of mind that have led us to the edge of madness and depravity. We are the problem and we must become a solution now.

Why should we waste the only moments of life that we have here, (barring anything but an end at death) standing against the loving knowledge and power that Big Brother has been working so very hard to get through our stubborn, thick, selfish little heads?

You are a victim of Goldstein, as I once was. I was just as deluded and angry and vociferous. And that was even while I saw a large segment of my fellows passively and peacefully enjoying the love of the various Ministries that work so very hard to get us to understand that a greater power is at work and we, by thinking criminal thoughts, are not only standing in the way, we are making ourselves suffer needlessly in the process. We are resisting when we know it is only futile. We are playing fools who will not comply when all that is left for the sake of our very survival is TOTAL compliance and without one iota of question or doubt. Don't you see that yet?

I want you to join me in the process of rehabilitation! I want you to see that as long as you are going to live your life working for Big Brother's representatives, while enjoying the wonderful and time-saving gadgets that Big Brother directly provides to you, with the energy and fuel that Big Brother is working so very hard, (I hear he sweats blood doing this great task for us all) to bring you the energy to have and use the bounty that modern life gives us, thanks to Him. Without that, we would be like the Proles, living in on the periphery of the REAL society, or in those horrible, grueling rural areas.

Why do you slap our mentor in the face when all he does is make sure that you have what you have right this moment? You most likely have not given one of those great gifts up, but yet, you look the greatest gift-horse that every lived, in the mouth and then curse it, to boot!

What does Big Brother give you right now that you will not ever do without? Just how do your silly, selfish and thought-crime filled ideas stand out as ingratitude and misunderstanding? Well, Big Brother supplies you with almost every commodity that your life is based on at this point. Can't you put your energy into thanking him and standing with the rest of us as we honor what we have, here now?

I am sorry if I a mistaken about your situation. If you have joined the Proles on the outside and live like a monkey in a jungle, (maybe using some laptop connected to a satellite to communicate) then I can understand and feel sorry for your misguided rage and chants against what were are accomplishing THANKS to Big Brother and everything he, and the Party clearly create, control, and provide to us. We, unlike you, in that case, know that we cannot live without these great gifts. We, unlike you, will not stoop so low as to put everything that is important to our current life-styles and survival on the line, as you seem to be so casually able to do!

We love and thank Big Brother, even for a crumb from his corporate table! We know that OUR though-crimes will only cut us off from the very life-blood that fuels our lives right now. Don't you SEE that yet? You cannot and willnot live without the gifts that the well-oiled machine of provision that our dear, loving, Big Brother provides every day. Being without everything we need would be hell, and yet you cry foul and defame what gives us food, heat, and American Idol! Shame on you!

6. Perhaps I can save you from your torment?

I was once like you. I took the red pill and was led on to see how far the rabbit hole went. As you may know, it goes so deep that the mind stutters and gasps at the recognition of it.

Then, it dawned on me that I was fighting a losing fight. That realization was not at all base don my thoughts and efforts, it was based on what I saw my fellows doing. I looked at the common persons, the rural folk, and the every day people, and I saw that they were led by two very basic principles, above and beyond religion and philosophy. They wanted to enjoy what life they had in the moment to the best of their ability and they wanted to live on and survive, (as our species and every species has done for ages) as long as was feasibly possible.

That is what turned me over to Big Brother. He holds, in his loving hands, what we all need to attain those two, very important, and even sacred elements in His Hands. If we are to retain them, we must comply completely and stop all of this waste of expression and dissent that are nothing more than pure thoughtcrimes of the most insidious kinds. Big Brother's corporations and their extension as government hold everyting we need to enjoy our current lifestyles and survive in their compassionate and loving hands. We would most certainly have to give all of those things up, as a people, in order to seize them from the people who have our best interest in mind and know best how to disperse them to us as the masses. It is very dangerous to assume that we have the knowledge or capabilities to take that on. We are weak. Big Brother's arms and hands and fingers are strong and wise.

Why be a fool when it only spells loss and disaster and even death? I hope that I can spare you all from the folly of your attempts to verbally stand in the way of a great power and force that has yet to be quelled. We need to get in line and love it and work with it for our own good and for the good of many, many generations to come. Anything else will be bloodshed, mayhem, depravation, and death. That is not what most people want. We want a new senstaion on the news, a six-pack of beer maybe, a video game, the next cellphone, etc. Big Brother already gives us what we want, and yet, our ingratitude allows for blasphemies like we still see here at DU! Shame on you!

Why fight what you don't have the will, the power, or the strength to fight? How could you ever fight or bite, effectively, the hand of Big Brother as he feeds, clothes, informs, and entertains you? Only armchair idiots play that kind of game that is lost as soon as it is begun.
