"Everything is blamed on global warming" - today's insane LTTE
From today's right-leaning local rag. I've really got to start responding to these people. Anybody have any good info? The letter is in quotes below:

"Mr. Ciarrocchi's letter, “Perhaps a summer without end,” reminds me of Rachael Carson's book “The Silent Spring.” The number of deaths caused by her well-meaning book number into the millions. Prior to her book malaria was almost under control, with the use of DDT. The UN banned the use of DDT worldwide using her book as the main source of its documentation ... deaths from malaria spiked. Now decades later DDT is being used again, and is saving lives in the Third World.

I see the same type of pseudo-science being used to justify the Kyoto Protocol, which incidentally was first unratified by the U.S. during the Clinton administration. Today every thunderstorm, heat wave, hurricane, earthquake, tidal wave and, yes, even heavy snow-storms are being blamed on global warming, which has somehow been transposed to climate change. This term of course can now cover heavy snowstorms or extremely cold winters, etc. Very convenient.

The Earth goes through climate changes. The Great Lakes are a great example of an Ice Age that was defrosted by a cycle of global warming. If the Earth is going through a warming cycle, nothing we can do will stop it. The forces of nature cannot be stopped by man or the Kyoto Protocol. It is impossible to hold back a tidal wave or plug up a volcano.

If global warming is here, why not enjoy it ... look at savings on heating bills and the added benefit of less greenhouse emissions."

1. I thought everything was the fault of the "gay agenda" - damn, did I
miss a memo or something? Now it's all about Al and no longer about me?

9. I get confused...
did we blame everything on the gay agenda before, or after we blamed everything on the Clenis? Was it: Clinton, gay agenda, global warming...or gay agenda, Clinton, global warming?

4. the atmosphere's 12 miles thick
from ground to where there's no more air. Into THAT we pump 6 billion metric tonnes of carbon in 1995 (when the Ross Gelbspan article in Harper's magazine which is the source of this was published)...we then pumped 6 billion more tonnes in 1996, then again 1997, and again 1998 etc...the energy industry then constituted mankind's largest enterprises. If anything, things have gotten worse since 1995. Certainly, the dishonesty of the political forces that look out for the polluters has become openly cynical. With enough money, you can LIE to ALL the people all the time, and...well look at the 2k bush selection. It was STAGED! In broad daylight!
The ironic thing is that MR Pig really doesn't want to win the Global Warming argument- it's obvious 72 billion metric tonnes/carbon put into 12 mile atmosphere since '95 must be having an effect, BUT! But the system is set up so the forces of confusion literally get away with LYING on public airwaves/media- they even write lies off on the taxes! Mr pig is in a quandry. A BIG quandry! HAHAHA.
GO BUSH!

7. good question...
in 1980, when reagan was installed in power, i knew that the society which hinted at such wonderful future had been hijacked, and...well bloodshed might have helped back then, who's to say(?) Regardless, i went on my way, despising the political world and watching alice in wunderland became the new normal. Even 8 years 'o' clinton just pointed up how greasy was Mr Pig. It was the seemingly 'liberal' authority of that era that allowed the rightwing to sharpen their knives, year in and year out. The 'impeachment' of Mr Clinton, or the graphicly pornographic sexual aspects of it, was an outright assault on the old squares, the working people and the conservatives who, nevertheless, knew it was the liberal element of our 'liberal' democracy that made it work, that created the stunning middle class that, almost nonchalantly, could send men to the moon and BRING THEM HOME safely in a decade long project! No fascist regime in history ever did anything even remotely as amazing as that ...yet even as those years went by, even as the end of racism, poverty, war and so on were thought possible, the nazipoohs were schemeing- the Vietnam war was part of the scheme, murdering John, Bobby, Martin Luther King and a host of others (Malcolm X, Dag Hammerschold, Chile's Allende, Omar Torrijos etc) were too. And the majority of the people did nothing. I did nothing. So for the record WE are going to have to take responsibility for bush, and rush limbah, and foxnews, and all the 'schemes' that have become known. The nazipoohs try to blame certain elements, saying society remains innocent, but what they're really doing is forcing society to own the results of the rightwing acheming that the rightwing pigmedia conveeenietly forgets to mention. At the height of saddam's power, Iraq's miltary budget was smaller then alabama's, yet still we attacked them, twice, kimo Sabe
