2. I grew up in a country that had wall to wall scooters

and so I'm inclined to consider one for my intown transportation. However, the probably of having to drive on parkways and high speed four lane roads, I'm wary of being wiped out. This thing seems to take a few steps towards driving a safer scooter.

3. This looks like something I would be able to ride

I've never learned to ride a two wheeled bicycle (balance problems-heck, I couldn't WALK until I was 2!), but I think I could handle this. I've seriously considered buying a pedal tricycle for the 6 mile commute to work, but I've been afraid I'd be run over, as the state highway doesn't have wide shoulders.

4. $8,000 Seems like a lot of money for a scooter.

I would drop an additional $4,000 and grab a smart car, I would feel safer and have some room for groceries.
