Andrew Taylor, writing for the Associated Press, reports that a record $460 billion Pentagon budget approved by lawmakers late Saturday night "would add money for equipment for the National Guard and Reserve" but "does not include Bush's 2008 funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Democrats say they want to consider that money in separate legislation in September."

1. So this is the budget WITHOUT the extra $200 billion or so

for BushCo's illegals wars? So are we talking 46 cookies or 66 cookies? Just how many cookies would it take to develop alternative, renewable energy sources for every metropolitan area in America? How many cookies to update schools? How many cookies for universal health care? Does the rest of America even give a damn that so much of their tax dollars are going to programs that will in no way benefit them, and even make them LESS safe?
