"But the true genius of the plan was the fear....... |
|
.... Fear became the ultimate tool of this government. And through it our politician was ultimately appointed..." - from "V for Vendetta"
Was Chertoff's "gut feeling" about a terror attack this summer really a "gut feeling" that Democrats, fearing an attack would come after fighting the FISA expansion, would give Bush what he wanted? I suppose I can understand why Dems, especially in the less solidly blue districts, would fear such a scenario, but if they think that makes them look strong on terror, it really makes them look too weak to stand up to a fear-mongering bully. I am so f**king sick and tired of the politics of fear, and honestly, I don't think it's working on the masses of Americans anymore. As usual, the public is ahead of the politicians.
But regardless of what weapons they try to use to effect silence, words will always retain their power. Words are the means to meaning, and for some, the annunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country.

Goering is purported to have said "First we teach them to fear, then we convince them they need to fear, and then we have complete control"

3. I have become so sick and tired of fear 24/7. |
|
But, who do we fear more terrorists or the present admin?? I truely think I`m way more afraid of my government than any terrorists. I`m ready to just say "bring it on". I have just had it with all the fake terror attacks. Whatever happened to such great words as "We have nothing to fear but, fear itself"? All we hear is "we`re safer now but, we`re not safe yet". My fears these days are for this beautiful country and what the admin. has done to it.

6. So why doesn't pResident Decider tell us how "safe the World is now without Saddam Hussein in it"? |
|
He sang that tune so often that it now falls on deaf ears. I don't fear the "terra-ists". I fear bu$hco.
