"The Democrats keep complaining and whining about intrusion or privacy and all that"

http://www.philly.com/philly/wires/ap/news/nation/washington/20070807_ap_bushdowntohisbaseofsupport.html

<snip>

Robert Heiser, a 53-year-old floor covering businessman turned real estate salesman from Myrtle Beach, S.C., said that other than Bush's stand on immigration, he backs the president's position on the war in Iraq, the war on terror and homeland security.

"The Democrats keep complaining and whining about intrusion or privacy and all that," Heiser said. "If we didn't have that, then the terrorists would be blowing us up. The stuff he's done is what's protected us. Every big city in this country is pretty much liberal, but guess where the terrorists are going to hit first? They're going to hit the big cities. That's what I think is so funny about the Democrats."

...

Staunch Bush supporter Edward Kinzer, 39, an account manager from Trussville, Ala., can't understand the backlash against the president.

"I find it odd that people want to criticize someone who is trying to stop the evil," said Kinzer, who said he sees Bush as a kindred spirit on religious beliefs. "I know it's costing lives, but people who sign up to be in the armed services commit themselves to the cause of freedom," he said.

1. Kids accept that there is no Santa Claus
faster than these robots will see the reality beyond their simplistic fantasies.

:puke: is right.

2. I Find It Odd/Funny That The People Who Are Most Afraid Of The Next Attack
Are the ones most likely not to be involved. I'm not thinking that Al Queda will be heading to Myrtle Beach. The people who don't seem to be afraid and want to keep their liberties, who voted overwhelmingly for John Kerry, are New Yorkers.

5. The way I see it
New York and (possibly) L.A. are the most likely targets for a large-scale attack. New York because it seems to be their favorite and L.A. because it's the originator of our "evil" cultural influence.

Of course, if one accepts the possibility of a MIHOP situation, then L.A. is STILL a good target because it'll eliminate some serious critics of this (mis)administration.

12. Yet The Middle Of The Country Are The Ones Who Are Petrified
What a brain squeeze they've been in. And before they vote for Guiliani, they should ask us what we think about him, too.

15. Islamic terrorists would have no reason to strike middle America...
There's a REASON they struck at the WTC twice. When McVeigh hit the OC federal building, the media said "Arab" terrorists and I said "homegrown."

4. What does Iraq have to do with FREEDOM?
The greatest threat to our freedom lies HERE, in the office of the President and his complicit lapdogs in Congress.

Terrorists may threaten our lives, but REPUBLICANS threaten our freedom.

9. Then, they should be OK with me reading their e-mails
Or their medical transcripts.
Or their credit card statements.
Or where they went on vacation, and with whom.
Or see what catalogs they order from.
Or what their neighbors have to say about them.
Or what kind of private business deals they have going.
Or what books they have read.
Or what type of drugs they are prescribed.
Or what religion they practice.
Or reading what the mailman delivers, before he delivers it
Or what their ex-wives have to say about them......

Intrusion is no big deal.
You have nothing to fear.
I feel safer knowing they are spying on the liberals.

Wait a minute, what do you mean *I* have a file?

14. Democrats "keep complaining and whining about intrusion or privacy"?
Then why the bloody Hell do Democrats in Congress repeatedly give the Junta more and more power to intrude and violate privacy?

Methinks Heiser is an ignorant twit (like most conservatives, neo-conservatives and the steath conservatives referenced above.)

16. Isn't it extremely odd?
That the only thing bush has done since he took office, is take away our liberties. None of the restrictions on OUR LIBERTIES, is something that has prevented terrorist from slipping into this country and as the writer says "blow us up".

They have not improved security of our ports. They have not improved the security at our borders. They have not improved by giving needed equipment to our police and first responders.

Again I repeat, all he has done is take away our liberties. Correct.
