Edwards did poorly tonight... |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-07-07 07:42 PM by jefferson_dem
say Tweety and his guests Willie Brown and Eugene Robinson.
Obama did particularly well, they argue.
Tweety opened up with some line about Hillary as "majestic"... And Pat Buchanan says Hillary won the debate.
Oh, and Dennis really stood out, stealing thunder from Edwards.

I can see their point. But Edwards did okay too. Of course, they're always going to kowtow to Hillary. I guess they think we're stupid and haven't been paying attention to the diasters their policies ended up creating.

Can't image MSM having to deal with a presidential candidate whose policies center on the working class.

26. They spun the debates in 2000 |
|
concentrating on Gore's signs instead of Bush's lame answers.
In 2004, Kerry was absolutely stunningly good in the first debate - they gave up trying to spin it. Kerry actually won all three. (The Bush gaffe of forgetting that he had said he didn't think of OBL was caught by everyone.) Kerry was afterall the Yale debate champ for the years he was in college, contributing to Yale having an exceptional record those years.

He nails how much we are manipulated by the media into believing things that aren't true. And I love how he constantly points out one of the reasons is because you can't have a conversation with your T.V.!

I am sure I will agree with most of it. I did not like Gore when he ran in 1988 and wasn't enthusiastic in 2000, but adversity has greatly improved him. (but I've only been really enthusiastic twice - McGovern and Kerry.)

No wonder she's leading in the polls. The media is spinning this for Hillary. I guess her getting the nom will really help the ratings.

|
Hillary, on the other hand, didn't answer some of the questions asked of her. Like the one about lobbyists, and why they make so much money. Oh, she beat the ever lovin' hell out of the bush on that one, but NEVER came close to answering the question.
I hope others are smart enough to notice that as well. How much campaign money has Hillary collected from the big lobbyists I wonder?

He's so damned predictable, isn't he?
His first comment after the debate was something to the effect of, "John Edwards didn't have a commanding presence tonight. Is it because he's a small man? Seriously, he's physically small."
What in the....?????? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

She didn't defend her being on the Forbes Business loves Hillary Magazine and got booed on her comments regarding Pakistan. When you are booed by the audience I think it is a sign that you did not win.

40. I haven't seen the debate yet.... |
|
...and I'm not making a personal crack about this thread starter... (This goes for all Hilary, Edwards, Obama, Kucinich, Clark and so on supporters....)
...but I have to say that any time I see a thread started that takes a swipe at a Dem candidate....and that same thread starter has a sig line that endorses a different Dem candidate...
...I tend to run in the other direction.
I don't know, Edwards may have done poorly tonight. I haven't seen it yet. Can't argue on the facts, you saw it, I didn't. But when the sig line for one candidate is bigger than the post above slamming another candidate, then I start to feel like I'm being spun.
I know, debate is important here as it is among the candidates. But any time (and I'm talking about all of you who are cheerleaders for one candidate) a thread is started to slam a candidate by a member who is very much an advocate for another candidate, I tend to believe it less rather than more.
