So the Democratic candidates have now fielded debate questions from the public twice now. Have the
Republicans ever done this in a debate?

Will they?

2. NO! They are oh so busy, couldn't make the September gig, I hear
4 'might' have signed on for the December 'you tube' appearance. The one tonight might just make some of them eat their tails and go home.

3. Nope cause they are cowards.....they want to make sure they
filter every question so they can ONLY talk about abortion, Gay Marriage, and how pro war they are....

They know that there are Republicans out there starting to see the light and that scares them to the Core.

Once again this is theme the Democratic Party could pick up....."Why do the Rethuglicans only talk to Corporations and not average Americans?"

See it's not really that hard to pick up on their failures and exploit them...

5. Sure
Of course the audience will be just representative of their people. CEOs, Freepers, religious right clergy (well maybe not the gay ones or the child molesters but then again, IOKIYAR).

They used to be able to count on the military but a lot of the soldiers and the brass too got wise to their BS about supporting the troops when they really mean support Halliburton and the Saudis.

6. IMO questions from real people with real problems are a dealbreaker for any R in the race
IMO all the Republican candidates are extremists who spend most of their time lambasting various political scapegoats. What could they possibly say to--

--the trembling pension ripoff victim struggling to the mike to talk about inadequate healthcare for his wife--healthcare he worked decades for and thought he was guaranteed;

--the hospital organizer who said eight of her coworkers already had been fired for trying to get a union recognized;

--the six-month citizen who asked about a pathway to citizenship for the undocumented who've spent years working here?

7. Oh heck, that's easy:

--the trembling pension ripoff victim struggling to the mike to talk about inadequate healthcare for his wife--healthcare he worked decades for and thought he was guaranteed;

'We got some tax credits just for you, that will no doubt take care of all your needs!'

--the hospital organizer who said eight of her coworkers already had been fired for trying to get a union recognized;

'How can you and your friends expect to compete against the Filipino and Nigerian employees we are importing if you work union wages?'

--the six-month citizen who asked about a pathway to citizenship for the undocumented who've spent years working here?

'Um, tax credits again!'

How'd I do? :shrug:
