Good news in Kentucky. We choose a new governor this year. Here's
a posting on a new poll. I think you will like it.

Steve Beshear is still way ahead of Governor Fletcher, according to the latest Survey USA/WHAS 11 poll.
The poll shows Beshear leading 58%-37% among the 613 likely voters who responded to the phone survey August 4-6. That's almost identical to Beshear's margin in July (59-36).
The really bad news for Fletcher in the August poll is that it oversampled Republicans. 44% of those responding identified themselves as Republicans, 50% Democrats. The ratio of registered Republicans to Democrats in Kentucky is roughly 2:3.
More bad news for Fletcher: Despite hammering on Beshear's pro-casino stance, 79% of those polled say they want to vote on the gaming issue. Just 19% don't.
Of those who say there should be a vote on casinos, Beshear leads 64-32. Of those who don't want a vote, Fletcher leads 59-36.
Fletcher is strongest in western Kentucky with 43% (Beshear 51%) while Beshear continues to crush Fletcher in Louisville and nearby counties (65-31).
The one potential achilles heel for Beshear appears to be voters 65 and older.
Among the elderly set, Beshear leads by 12 points (54-42). Those are the folks who vote religiously. The made up 19% of the survey sample.

Even with this lead we cannot not become complacent. Mitch McConnell will be pulling his dirty tricks. This past weekend at our Fancy Farm Picnic* the Republicans were charging that the Beshear's choice for Lt Governor Dr Mongiardo is gay. So what? He's not gay as far as I know. He is married to a sweet young gal.

* http://www.fancyfarm.net/picnic.html It's a political forum. It's quite raucous at times, but this year it got ugly with the Republicans doing a limp wrist routine directed at the Dem candidates. Look for it to be featured on the food network.

4. We have to win. The Race for Attorney General is very important.
The republican running is a fucking nutcase.

We have a very good candidate named Jack Conway.

http://jackconway.org/main/index.php He's a good Dem.

5. This certainly makes MY day!
I believe Steve Beshear is a good man. I campaigned on his behalf the first time he ran for governor in 1987.

6. Can you smell the desperation? In '04, Bunning's campaign said Mongiardo looked like Hussein's sons!
Nothing is below a Repuke.

7. Hi Alfredo
I'm presently working on a video montage starring McConnell & Stumbo. A friend of mine is very involved in the Kentucky Dem party, and has asked if I would do it. How could I resist? McConnell morphing into a woman to the tune of Steve Miller's "Abracadabra." :D Saw the pics of Stumbo at the picnic this past weekend sporting a bloodhound. Hahahaha. I think McConnell could be knocked out if Stumbo runs a smart & aggressive campaign. Beshear's huge lead is indicative of America finally waking up and saying no to republican rule. Anyway, my YouTube channel link is on my DU profile so look for the video this coming weekend.

8. Thank you. I might work for the AG race. Jack Conway is my
candidate. I also want to keep the Republican, Stan Lee out of that office. He's a nutcase. I think his campaign is going to try to paint Conway as a closet gay. He isn't gay. That's a typical Republican tactic here in Ky. Republicans live in fear of homosexuals.

I did a separated at birth poster showing Stan Lee and Johnny Wadd side by side. Not everyone will catch it, but that's OK. Some may need to google it.
